RE: Bowl Projections
Pretty much all over the map. In part, that's because with only six wins, the five win C-USA teams are breathing down our necks.

We need a seventh win. We are by no means assured a postseason game yet.

RE: Bowl Projections
is it to soon to start the debate about whether we want a winnable game vs. a G5 team (Texas State) or to be substantial underdogs to a P5? (Miami)

Or should we just cut and paste the Rick vs. somebody (Hambone?) debate from last year?

I'd rather get clobbered by a P5 than play a directional-G5.

RE: Bowl Projections
Rice has 3 games left, two as road underdogs. Rice will be lightly favored in the home game against UTEP. Rice needs to win one of these three to elevate itself above the ruck of 6-6 teams. Rice will not be selected by any bowl that has the option of another 6-6 team, so that seventh win is critical.

Until Rice gets a seventh win, this discussion is premature.

Also, if we lose to Marshall, in our best interests for them to win out and get that Access spot

Yes, if we lose to Marshall, then I'll wish them the best for several reasons including the greater glory of the conference.

After us, Marshall plays @UAB and vs WKU and, likely, in the C-USA Championship game.

Yes, IF we lose to Marshall, then AFTERWARD I will root for them to complete the run. I always root for the nest interest of Rice.

The heck with this kind of talk! I want four wins in a row and consideration for that last access spot or whatever it's called!

Yup. Win out. Win the conference and then see which bowl wants a 10-3 team.

Last year I would have agreed with you. Then I froze my butt off in Memphis as our butt was handed to us on the field.

Of course my preference is to win it all but that game was no fun last year.

With one daughter at Rice and one at Miami, I love that scenario!

I'm surprised to see so many possibilities to be matched up vs P5 teams. I'll take any P5 team.
