RE: Ball State entire defense is hurt
i'd like to see a tv ratings comparison between MAC TU/WED night games and the TH/FR schedule that the ACC/AAC & MWC have. The Friday games compete with High School football, the Thursday games now compete with the NFL every week while the NFL is not yet on Tu/Wed (it will likely happen give them time)
If your program is playing a weeknight game there can be some justification for it if it is being viewed by a significant audience. I'll be the NCAA Thurs & Fri games aren't getting the numbers they used to

If only they knew how rough we have it in the MAC.
How many weeknight games do those schools have, and how do these numbers compare to non-weeknight games?
That's missing the point...the numbers show that there are folks willing to support weeknight games.
For comparison purposes, we really don't have to look any further than the SunBelt, which also has a mid-week agreement. I guess you can make the claim that they play their games in nicer weather, though...
The argument was never that NOBODY goes to weeknight games, the argument is that there would have been more people if it was a Saturday. If a school that normally gets 80,000 on a Saturday still gets 60K on a weeknight, that still shows an impact.
BTW, the entire Ball State defense is hurt....
Every teams has injuries and since you all are crying about Ball State, one of our leading tackles will be out for this game.
Quote:Messiah – who has 61 tackles and is tied for the team lead with two sacks – left the Minutemen's loss Toledo on Oct. 25 after suffering an apparent knee injury. After the game he was seen on crutches.
"I don't think Kassan will play," Whipple said. "He hasn't practiced. He's running around, but we won't play him."
With a 17-day layoff between games thanks to an extended bye week, it was thought Messiah might have enough time to recuperate. That's the case for linebacker Jovan Santos-Knox, who left the Toledo game in a sling after injuring his shoulder, but will be ready to go against Ball State.

That was actually just a snarky remark about how the thread got switched from Ball State injuries to attendance.
