Nick's Picks Week #12
Nick’s Picks is trying to build off of last week’s 6-0 run which raised my YTD record to 65-21. Toledo fans, you may not like this…

Tuesday November 11

Akron 27 – Buffalo 16
At this point in the season it’s about who has something to play for and who does not…Akron still can reach a 7-5 record and be bowl eligible if they win out and as we’ve seen over the past few weeks Buffalo has mailed it in.

NIU 34 – Toledo 28
NIU has won four straight in this series that as was dominated by the Rockets from the late 1980s through the mid-2000s. I see Toledo leading most of the game and then NIU coming from behind late to secure the victory. Until Toledo beats NIU in November, something this current senior class has never done, it’s hard to the pick Toledo who will likely be using their 3rd string QB.

Wednesday November 12

UMass 41 – Ball State 33
The Minutemen have played much better this season than their record indicates while Ball State just hasn’t been able to finish games like they have in the past under Coach Lembo.

BGSU 24 – Kent State 16
BG can officially punch their ticket to the championship game with a win…Kent State may have found their QB of the future last week against Toledo.

Saturday November 15

Central 28 – Miami 20
The Chips are quietly having a very nice season while Miami wants to rid their minds of last week’s crapper against Western; look for a close game with Central pulling away in the second half.

Western 42 – Eastern 14
Eastern has had Western’s number over the past few seasons while Western just might be the MAC’s best team right now.

BG with only 24 points and a win by only 8? Those seem low. Although it's supposed to be really windy and really cold. Is that what you're basing that on? Curious.

Kent showed some life vs. UT with their new qb. They lost to Toledo by 10, and NIU by 3. They play good enough goal line D to keep BG grounded. Theyre on my upset alert.

I agree with all of your picks Nick, with the exception of Ball St. They are are playing much better with their new QB, but it is not showing as much as it should being they have had to play some very tough teams over the last few weeks.
