Does it need to be replaced. Didn't look good on television. Looked worn.

Field Turf will usually be replaced every 10 years. I believe this edition was installed prior to the '09 season, so I would say there could be about 4 more years on it until it's replaced.

Maybe it was the rain, but the turf looked worn and lot of black was showing "Black is the new gray?" Lol.

To me the turf has looked worn the past 2 years. Not sure why but I think it has to do with using it as our only practice field up until this time last year.

I would expect us to have new turf for the 2017 season.

I think some lighting improvements could be made as well. Everything looks dark at Huskie Stadium.

Now you are onto something. Black turf would look great at NIU!

luckily we hardly ever play any home games, so our turf should stay nice and new

How about turf that's the same color as the football? That could make things interesting.

If Miami switches to a bright red turf, we might have to change our fight song to "Blinded by the Light" by Manfred Mann.

Our current turf was installed in 2010, but it too has been used for practice more than usual due to the construction of the IPF where the main grass practice field was. Our first turf lasted from 2003-09, so I would expect the new stuff to be there until 2016 at least.

Huskie Stadium is still used for practice the overwhelming majority of the time. To have really good football facilities and keep the stadium field in the best condition, an Outdoor practice field is needed. Not too many MAC schools have one.

I was surprised not to see one in our Master Plan.
