HOW Mountain and cmu
After watching the Fleck motivational videos and watching the teams response....I gotta believe he will have the Broncos foaming at the mouth and ready to destroy the chimps.....home or away it wont make any difference. I had some reservations about the outcome of this game but the Broncos win!! The only hesitancy I have is that he gets the team too worked up and it affects their play to the point where they get beyond themselves....kinda like your star pitcher whos so pumped he overthrows and is out of the strike zone early in the game. Im thinking this cmu game maybe the most exciting game the Broncos play all year. Looking forward to this one!!

Seeing Enos has seen the light and is loading up on recruits to match Fleck, even though most have a Chimp offer and nothing else, it is certain he will try and copy the Fleckster with motivational videos.

Men, you know when Thomas was on trial we weren't good. MAYBE [Image: shouting.gif] we could win or MAYBE we couldn't. Well Thomas has been gone for two weeks, and we managed a win, right!! MAYBE, when he's back, MAYBE we can win.

Have you ever climbed [Image: shouting.gif] MAYBE MOUNTAIN?!!! MAYBE we can climb it with Thomas, MAYBE we can't. We're a gang, a gang of players who think MAYBE we can do it. MAYBE, like a gang in a prison yard we can defeat that guy with the Shiv. MAYBE if Thomas gets back we can climb MAYBE Mountain.

MAYBE [Image: bullhorn.gif] we should take the field, and MAYBE we can beat the Broncos. [Image: bullhorn.gif] Who's with me!!! MAYBE you, MAYBE you, lets go go go go go go!!!!

The WMU culture is changing. This is not a Cubit culture anymore. This team plays with passion. Most importantly, this team does not quit!
I've heard it said that a team takes on the mentally of their head coach. For us that means passion, energy, and a do not quit mentality manifested in RTB. In CMU's case, you can fill in the blanks. If this is a somewhat close game in the 4th I will have confidence because these players will not quit!

Being that today is Veterans Day, I took it off and went for a bike ride this morning. I stopped by at Waldo to watch the guys practice and I was very impressed with PJ's style in motivating the players.

The Cubit practices were like what I remembered in HS - whistles and lots of yelling from the coaches. Today, there was a DJ playing all of the right songs at the right time and PJ had his own mic and was pumping the guys up when they did good. The whole practice was high energy and the players were feeding off of that energy!

When things are done with purpose in practice. They will be done the same way in games...most of the time.

IMO it's all relative to outcome. Last year, P.J. wasn't doing anything differently with the music at practice, but we won one game and many probably thought he needed to run more "traditional" practices. Conversely, when Cubit was winning nine games and taking us to the Texas Bowl, many probably had no problem with how he ran practice.

Everyone has their own style. I'm fine with whatever works and leads to winning.

RE: HOW Mountain and cmu
Cubit practices were pretty standard, like most practices I've watched. He piped in music or sound to simulate crowd situations.

Getting kids jacked up is easy, but pretty soon it becomes passé and you have to find another trick. As these kids get older, and more used to winnig it actually might get harder to generate energy. We get more skeptical and synical as we get older.

Fleck may turn out to be one of those guys who can rebuild better than he can sustain. Time will tell.

Why does this praise of PJ always come back to Cubit? Why not Darnell? Why not Molde?

I said from day one that I thought he ran a good practice. Seems to be paying off a year later. Good for us. Go Broncos. But ******* A Pj is the coach. Lets stick with the present, it is all people were talking about last year but now we keep bringing up the past. Just when I think the fleckies maybe getting me, I read one of these posts.

This. Cubit was a great coach that had his share of victories and defeats. Many of the things fleck wants to do are things we've done under previous coaches. . We are on the right track this year and that's awesome but let's not throw in the past under the bus just yet because a new coach got us to 6-3.

I never watched Darnell or Molde practice, so I do not have a comparison for them.

It's natural for every fan base with a new head coach, to compare him to the last coach.
