Hey all,

We'll be at Jake's/Biggs again for the Marshall game this Saturday at 1:30pm. I went over there and verified the channel. We'll see it on channel 671, one of the Fox Sports channels. This is the biggest game of the year so far and it would be more fun to have an even bigger crowd.

Come out and watch the game with your fellow Owls as Rice beats Marshall!

Took a quick look at noon games Saturday. There doesn't appear to be anything earlier than Rice that would pack Biggs. That being said, what time will The MOB make its pregame march into the joint ?

That would be awesome! Seriously, did anyone think of inviting the MOB to send a small "pep squad" over to the watch party?
- It would be fun for the fans, and would really put Rice's stamp on the place
- It would reinforce the message that the watch party is for all Rice fans and that it's not just watching TV but a festive occasion -- i.e. a better and more social experience than watching on your couch at home
- It might generate a little local visibility for Biggs -- especially if, for example, the MOB played on the outdoor patio at the front of the place.
- It would beneficial to the MOB as a whole, since either:
(a) presumably the MOB (like most band organizations) has a standard fee for command appearances like this, or
(b) if not, then certainly it would only be fair to offer a donation in return for them coming.

Something to consider for next time -- great idea, Da.Owl!

The last watch party would be Thanksgiving Saturday. I'll bet it will be tough to form up a watch party. Wonder if Chuck could gather a WPOB by then ? Heck ... bring the Cheerleaders and Dance Team too.

Good point: "next time" this year is a non-starter given the date. A watch party is probably still a go, but it will likely be small and enlisting a pep squad would be a quixotic errand.

But a MOB pep squad for a watch party might be a great idea for:
(1) conference championship game (if we don't host), or
(2) a key road game in 2015.

Great initiative!
