Worst part is...I don't think Watts is being pushed around.
Guys this is coming from the east/medical side of campus - not the BOT. The east side just wants more of the money as UABs finances get squeezed. Watts is doing exactly what he wants to. Whether is cutting the subsidy or killing football - we will find out soon enough

You need to know who the enemy is!!! Not that the BOTs is UAB football's friend. I am sure some members are just sitting back and LOL as UAB tears itself in two

That may be to an extent but the BOTs hands are very dirty. Bryant was lobbying the governor to shut us down. Finis has been shooting off his mouth about killing the program. I suspect Watt's marching orders is coming from Finis. That said I don't doubt the east side is an enemy as well.

I'm sure that Watts is like many on the east side who think athletics is spending money that should be in their research budget. I doubt that much of it would actually land there, but that's not how people think.

If it's Watts'call, then the BoT finally got its yes-man.

Their hands are as dirty as his.

I told Smaug this at the game Saturday - " If the football program survives this attack, Watts needs to be fired and if it does not Watts and Mackin need to both be fired."

Losing a D1 football team on your watch is not a good thing to have on your future resume.

This may have been mentioned before, but has anyone associated this with the announcement several months ago that there are no merit increases planned for UAB employees for 2015? This in addition to continuing cuts for Medicare and Alabama Medicaid? Maybe this is an inside job at UAB to rob Peter to pay Paul... 05-stirthepot

Could be... Republican backlash perhaps against the Affordable Health Care Act?

At the very end of the video, Mike Royer says that one of our two remaining games is against Mars Hall. Blasted teleprompter! 03-lmfao

I will always think of them as Mars Hall now

I still love to say "Mississippi Southern" ever since the immediate aftermath of Black Friday (though, technically, that was Southern Miss' name at one time so not exactly the same thing). I can't remember what rep from the BOT used that name in context of congratulating us on our crowd for the game against them.

Gene Stallings always referred to them as Mississippi Southern........he wasn't trying to be smart, he did used that term though- lol
