Hope all the Grizz haters heard that.

Salukiblue just because he said that about the Grizz is not gonna make me like Pro-Basketball.. I never have liked the Pro game!! No doubt that the Grizz being here helps in many ways but there is nothing in the Pro game that appeals to me at all.. I have friends that love them and some that don't.. I don't hate them I just don't care about Pro Basketball!!

I have always preferred college basketball over NBA, and probably over any other sport period. See the other hundred or so threads on Skal and Cal and UNC and Syracuse and Anthony Davis and Shabazz and conference realignment and strict liability and whatever else as to why it is probably behind MLB, NFL, NBA, and maybe even NCAA football now.

I use to be a Memphis Basketball fanatic but some of the powers that be ESPN, Cal, etc., etc., have year by year made me not care as much.. Money is ruining it all and that's why Professional sports don't interest me at all except MLB.. There's a reason I like MLB though..

Why do people hate the Grizzlies? I don't understand that type of thinking. I prefer college over Pro but the Grizzlies are good for the city and the college.

After the last four years, there are very few passengers left on that train.

Oh, they're still there. They just keep their mouths / keyboard a little more quiet. Their "inside" voice.

Josh could find the bright side to a colonoscopy from Shaq.

I know this situation has to eat at him though

I don't look at it like Pastner lost Skal.
Hamilton's meal ticket was always going to get on the fast track to the NBA...aka 'Honest John'.
That CA article from Michael Cohen certainly did not help matters any. Now EVERY Memphian who read that story knows what a slime/sham Gerald Hamilton truly is.

Please stop with the spin and/or sour grapes.

It is very simple at this high level of DI athletics - you either WIN or LOSE in recruiting. There is no gray area...well, his guardian blah blah or his AAU coach wah wah.

You either land the prospect or you don't.

This is a multi-billion dollar industry.

Save those "excuses" for Rhodes or CBU.

Anyway, the kid hasn't even decided yet. If he somehow reverses course and picks Memphis, there's going to a whole lot of crawfishing from some posters here.

If your primary goal is to make the league as quickly as possible, you cant argue with Cals results.

But you also must remember that if you are not a world beater when you get there you may not play which will hamper your development.

The Harrisons, Poythress, Dakari Johnson, Cauley-Stein, Marcus Lee, etc...

UK isn't some one and done factory. If Skal doesn't "bring it" he will end with the Marcus Lee role (pouring Gatorade) while Cal recruits over him with bigger, stronger NBA prospects. I hope everything works out for him.

FWIW I haven't seen Skal's name on a single mock draft.

Agree. There's a difference between desperately clawing and holding on loosely. This seems like the latter to me. If Skal comes, great. Hope we don't get in trouble. If he leaves, fine.

Maybe Josh has the SkalFatigue so many of us suffer from.

It's odd...a few years ago Shabazz Mohammad's father called into a Josh Pastner radio interview to ask if Josh would sign him. That situation got too shady and we apparently withdrew from the recruitment.

Now, we seem to be doing the same dance with Skal. Does this not strike anyone else as odd?

It's possible that Josh really does operate on principle.
