The best teams in the conference get a #6 seed. I will bet money that we do better than that.

8 seed is higher than I would have guessed. If we were any other team, I'd love to have Wisconsin as the 1 in our bracket, but they match up really well against us.

He's really going out on a limb there since all of the teams go straight down the rankings line .

top 32 sounds about right, may even be a tad high for right now.

How do you have a ranking when nobody has played a game? I'm talking KenPom too.

Based on how they did last season and who is returning or coming in to the program. There will be lots of hits and misses.

Here's how Ken does his but it's a lot of reading.

People will reply "he explains it on his web site..." but that doesn't mean it makes it right.

I have no idea how one can (with a straight face) assign values to a team when that person doesn't take into consideration newcomers.

No expectations from me on this team AT ALL yet. I've learned my lesson. Especially when Pastner goes out of his way to say he's avoiding setting any expectations. Saw a clip last night where he was saying part of all the excitement this year was wondering who was going to step up. Who knows. Potentially scary, hopefully on the upside.

Kenpom does consider newcomers...

Quote:- Personnel. This component handles who’s coming back from last season’s team and which impact recruits are being added to the roster. More impact is given to returning players from earlier classes. And minutes played by those with a high-efficiency/high-usage profile are particularly important. Recruits in the RSCI top 100 have some influence here as well, although most of the influence is in the top 50.

Palm has us as an 8 seed. That's #29 to 32, overall. Seems about right to me, for now, until we prove otherwise.

Wow, I'd rather be a 12 in the East. That would be the best opportunity we've ever had for a Sweet Sixteen under Josh.

I think this is right.

Illinois - Leron Black
Cincinnati - Octavious Ellis
Arkansas - Anthlon Bell
SMU - Jonathan Wilfong
Louisville - Chris Jones
Memphis - Nick King, Austin Nichols, Markel Crawford, Jake McDowell
Florida - Chris Chiozza
Arkansas Pine-Bluff - Jared Young

Some pretty good players on that list. I kind of wish we had Bell. We need some shooters.

RE: Jerry Palm 1st bracketology (11-10-14)
so when are we supposed to be good again, expecting to make a S16? Is it next year or bust?, because just to be brutally honest, i'm really growing impatient with being mediocre, and now most of us are just accepting the fact.
