I can't remember, going back 30 years.

But I can't remember what I had for dinner Saturday night either.

That final drive will be talked about years from now.

I'm not sure if this was the last time we did it but in 1996 my good friend Ted Lane kicked a last second FG to beat Cincy at home.

Thanks, I would have been there but I don't remember it.

Didn't we beat Arkansas State in Jonesboro on a last second FG back when Rip was coaching?

2000 I think, but I wasn't sure that it was last second. I was at that game, we had a great crowd.

I wanna say in that game Arkansas State missed a last second field goal (was short I believe) and we won

RE: When was the last time we won a game on last second field goal?
We beat UAB on a last-minute field goal when Tommy West was the coach. I can't remember what year, but I think it was post-Deangelo. I will do some digging to see if I can verify. It was at UAB and I was in the stands to see it live.

EDIT

I was correct. At UAB in 2008

Memphis 33, UAB 30

Associated Press

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Vinny Zaccario kicked a 25-yard field goal with two seconds left to give Memphis a 33-30 conference victory over Alabama-Birmingham on Thursday night.

Memphis (3-3, 1-2 Conference USA) won its third straight game and won its second in a row over UAB in a series that has become known as the "Battle for the Bones" in honor of the cities' reputations for fine barbecue.

Yes, I was the holder. Ryan White was our PK. It was very late in the game. I cant remeber if it was the very last second but I belive if I rememebr right there was less than 30 sec. remaining. We were down by 1 at the time.

We also missed wide right to close out the game against Houston. Missed by inches. It was after two consecutive timeouts. Went on to lose in either double or triple overtime. We were 4-4 at the time with TN coming in the next weekend. We also lost to Cinci a couple of weeks later in triple overtime. Joe Rocconi was our snapper for three years until that year and was a GREAT long snapper! We had no one with any experience in at that position after he left. Went through 3 or four guys. I had to make some pretty difficult holds that year and some were so off that by the time I was able to collect the high/low/skipping snap the timing was off just enough to get a couple blocked as well as timing was screwed. I feel fortunate I never had a missed hold in all three years I held but I hated it for Ryan that year that he had to deal with so many snapping/timing issues. Ryan was a really good kicker and I am not getting on the guys snapping as there was just no experience but yes it was frustrating for Ryan and I and it made it difficult for him mentally to go through so many different snappers as timing is everything.

Damn good hold!!!

If I remember, A State got the ball back and made one or two long plays to have a chance at a FG to win. Missed.

Yes, Tiger46 you are right. And thanks for the kind words! It was a nail biter at the end. They had a good QB in Cleo Lemon that had the ball in the last few seconds but our stout D held on.

we also kicked one at Ole Prius while Stobart was here to beat the then Rebels at Oxford.
One of my favorite Paul Hartledge called games ever.

No we didn't. Ryan Roskelly caught a TD late to win that one. 1994

Right, I was at that one too, rode out the storm and the sun came out just in time for that final TD. But it was a great Hartledge call.

So to answer the OP question about "the last time", apparently my reply above of Oct. 2, 2008 at UAB is the last time. See post #8 above for details. As they say "Winner, winner, chicken dinner."

I could swear that Hartledge was about to have palpitations "DON'T try a fake field goal here....just kick the damn ball and go home", which made Bob Rush reply "calm yourself Paul".
