RE: Texas State @ USA Game Week Discussion
If South Alabama wins then there probably will be 4 bowl eligible Sun Belt teams as I would assume Texas St. will at least get 1 more win (vs. Ga. State). 3 guaranteed bowls would probably leave Texas St. hoping that some other conference doesn't fill all their bowl slots. I would assume South Alabama would get the Camilia or Go Daddy Bowl over Texas St. in that circumstance.

If Texas St. wins it is very possible that the Sun Belt only has 3 bowl eligible teams as South Alabama would then have to beat Navy or South Carolina to get bowl eligible. There would probably be 3 Sun Belt bowl eligible teams and 3 spots.

RE: Texas State @ USA Game Week Discussion
One of the guys from our home board (and I think he posts here too sporadically) posted this and I thought it was interesting. We own the sword of omens!

http://www.reddit.com/r/CatTeamBrotherho..._of_omens/

Quote:
Not entirely certain if this belongs here, but since I enjoyed researching the original Sword of Omens, I have done that research yet again to come up with the college football sword of omens for our kitten bros.

The rules are the same as the NFL one, first ever matchup of cat teams begins the title chase every match is a defense even bowl games. Some notable differences, since sports team names were more fluid back in the day and many teams did not originally have mascots, I have decided to use the modern mascot if there is any doubt. Also at my own (admittedly biased) discretion I have labelled the Bearcats as a cat team since their history makes them the Baehr-Cats rather than our loveable crack weasel that we bring out for some games. As such your mileage may very in what path the college football sword of omens has taken over the years. Also at my discretion forfeited wins will still count as defenses or captures of the title since if the game is played it counts and it isn't fair to a current champion to have the title removed on a technicality.

November 11th, 1874 was the first time two cat teams played each other in an official college game, perhaps even being the first time ever two cat teams played against one another. These would be the Princeton Tigers and the Columbia Lions, with Princeton being the victor our title belt journey begins.

You wish, BobbieCat. But you can wish in one hand and you know what you can do in the other, then see what you have.

USA had 8 starters injured that didn't play during the Arkansas State game, 6 on offense and 2 on defense. We should be a little better on the injury front this week. Offensive lineman Drew Dearman, linebacker Maleki Harris, quarterback Brandon Bridge, tight end Wes Saxton and cornerback Qudarius Ford will all probably be back for this game. Hopefully we move on from last week's nightmare in Jonesboro and give a good effort against the Bobcats.

That's good news. I think they'll get the job done with these guys back.
