We are a 21 point favorite as of right now for the Rice game. I have more respect for Rice than LV does, but we have covered the ridiculous spreads we have put on us 7 out of 9 games.

I don't see a place ANYWHERE in which any reasonable Herd fan suggested that La Tech is not a real threat... Just like you, we heard from week to week how we won't do this and we won't do that to team x, y, or z...

I think the reason it took you guys some time to get some credit is you were 4-8 last year and have one serious blemish on your record this year, so it took some time to make believers out of many. Last year, we finished 10-4 and had tons of returning talent. Yes, our schedule is not strong, but we are winning convincingly, and that is reflected in the top 25 ranking.

I think you will find that most rational Herd fans are concerned that there are some real landmines over the next 30 days.. Personally, I think we'll beat Rice, but they have beaten us...The difference is going to be depth and geography IMHO... UAB scared me because we historically don't play well there...Then there's the CUSA CCG (no offense WKU)...

There's a LOT of ball to be played, so we'll see how it all pans out.

I agree with what you are saying. I don't think anybody could beat Marshall if Marshall played at top form. Thats the crazy thing about college football in you never know how 19 year old kids are gonna react Saturday to Saturday. CUSA has a long history of crapping the bed with its best teams towards the end of the season. Every conference except CUSA and Sunbelt made a BCS bowl. Houston had a chance and USM beat them and so on. Marshall must be wary of all teams at this point. There is a reason only a few teams are undefeated every season.

La tech is playing lights out right now and I don't see anyone beating them either. Good thing for Marshall is that they will probably get to host the championship game but it's still not guaranteed with the Dawgs. It will be a fine game and one I really want to see. We'll see if Marshall is all that with this game. No, Really.

Having watched a few Marshall games, and all of Tech's games:

Marshall probably wins.

Tech will not have faced a QB like Cato. I have confidence in the Tech D, but Cato is fantastic. Even with a healthy Cody Sokol and Kenneth Dixon, we'll need to have a near-perfect game along the OL, which is not common.

It will be a shootout, and I think a fantastic game. But Tech will need to play their best game of the season to win.

My boy here summed it up perfectly. Cato is a great passer on the run and most of our turnovers this season have been caused by a freakout on the part of the opposing QB.

I also think it would be a fantastic game, and if we lose I hope we make them earn it and it helps put Marshall "over" in terms of what they deserve.

We gotta beat ODU first though. And MU has to beat Rice. Start warming up the popcorn!

We did not have our big back (at that position), nor most of our much improved receiving corps. And, the kids were a year younger. Yet we won that by 2 scores.

Is it that you don't know, or that you are afraid to admit what is actually going to be done to your little team on 12/6?

Now look how far you've come. 03-lmfao Now you Marshall fans are even admitting that you could be playing LA Tech on 12/6. That's progress. Many of you blowhards were scoffing at that thought just a few weeks ago. Let's just say you're fnally coming around. And if you were wrong before........05-mafia

For the record, you sound JUST LIKE the ULL guys. And you see what happened to them.

I said it would be Marshall vs Tech in week 3. However, Tech fans seem to dismiss Marshall and believe we would never compete with the mighty oklahoma and auburn because tech didn't. Constantly knocking our SOS would be a fair and logical argument if we were winning by 3 instead of 30. But we aren't. We also play in the same conference as you. The competition level is fairly even. Furthermore, any team that loses to a bad FCS school, can't really talk smack about OOC schedules and be taken seriously.

La Tech is a good football team this season. Marshall is a great football team this season.

We have a lot of football left. Rice will be a chore, they whipped us last year. UAB - they play us well in Legion and we never play well there.
WKU can sling the rock.

As Banker said, lots of landmines to maneuver through.
