Texas St vs South Al: South Al, I don't trust Fran or the Bobcats QB.
stAte vs App St: stAte by 17.
Troy vs Idaho: Troy
Navy vs GaSo: Navy, Georgia Southern is getting less impressive as the competition increases.
Louisiana vs ULM: everything is pointing to Cajuns big, but that never matters. Louisiana by 2.

Still can't believe we're talking about sleet and snow in Arkansas in November. I guess that explains one of the coolest summers in recorded history.

We don't get snow very often. We get Ice. It destroys the roadways and causes millions of traffic accidents because no one here has any idea about how to drive on it.

If the Ice wasn't bad enough, its the build up to the storm that's worse. Ice and Snow in Arkansas are treated like the next apocalypse. People run to the store as fast as they can and buy about 3 weeks worth of Milk and bread. It could be a light dusting of snow projected with temperatures just at freezing, and every store within a 15 mile radius would be mobbed with lines out the door and all the mothers fighting over items like they are black Friday shopping.

RE: Week 12 Predictions
Texas St at South Alabama - Another close, close game but the Jags pull it out late in the fourth.

App St at Arkansas St - Ive seen App do this a few times. Looks like they decided its football season. Close game, but App pulls through.

Georgia Southern at Navy - #1 and 2 rushing offenses. One thing we have done well this year is stop the run. We did it against GT in the second half and looked good against it at Texas St. GT is a better TO team then Navy. We win another close one.

Troy at Idaho - I have no idea. Going to say Idaho just because its at home.

UL at ULM - Its a rivalry. ULM has it at home, they have had close close loses on the road, they show up and stop the almighty UL.

RE: Week 12 Predictions
I'm hoping after this past Saturday that my Cats come out pissed .... Taking TX ST by 14 over USA.
StAte by 17
Navy by 12
Troy by 14, it's still Idaho
UL by 21 (or more)

We'll probably never see the match-up this year, and after yesterday, some will call this sour grapes. I assure you it's not. Now having seen/played both, I can honestly say that the CAjuns are the class of this conference, were southern and the Cajuns to meet, The Cajuns would carry the day . . . . .

To be the champ, ya gotta beat the champ . . . .

Texas St vs South Al- With the Jags injuries, Bobcats by 3pts.
State vs App St.- Another week, another State athlete thrown out a game- Red Muts 7pts.
Troy vs Idaho: No defense Troy losses to Idaho 10 pts
Louisiana vs ULM- Cajuns favored by 7, game goes down to the wire. Cajuns win
GSouthern vs Navy- Navy will handle their business at home, Southern is no Notre Dame. 10 pts.

Idaho over Troy
Ark St over Appy
ULL over ULM (but would love to see the upset!!!)
Txst over USA

Not feeling great about going into Navy. We have not played well on the road this year. Playing in the cold always seems to slow us down as well.

Navy over Southern in a surprisingly low scoring game. (see 2010)

FWIW…we took a lesser team up to play a better Navy team in 2010 and lost by 6.

Expect a close and low-scoring game here. We can win by double digits but we are going to need to be able to pass better than we have in the past 2 games.

By 23? Maybe we shouldn't even show up to tangle with the power.

Just be glad Seminole Indian isn't predicting, we'd lose by 30 even if they only played their SEC caliber freshman class.

ULL by 7 over ULM
GaSo by 3 over Navy
TxSt by 10 over USA
stAte by 8 over App
Troy by 14 over Idaho

RE: Week 12 Predictions
It is amazing to see how much the stAte and ULL fans want GS to lose a game. We really didn't mean to upset your apple carts the way we did....well, yes we actually did want to do that, but as a conference, we really want all of our conference teams to do well in the out of conference games, don't we?

With regards to the GS-Navy game, GS has done well against the run, and since Navy runs "the GS offense," of previous years, you can bet that they won't throw much at the Eagles that they haven't seen. GS will prepare for Navy by having the current #3 QB (Izzy Youyoute) play scout team QB since he was the starter in the offense for Monken for a few games. He knows the offense and he is as fast or faster than the Navy QB, so the D will get a very good look. Not saying that GS will win. Navy may well run their scheme to perfection, but GS will know what's coming. They just have to stop it.

On offense, GS will have a speed advantage. Navy will have to spread GS out and cover all phases of the option like Tx State did most of the game. I expect GS to throw it more, but I am concerned that the shoulder injury that Ellison is playing with will continue to impede his throwing motion. He was on target with his deep throws early in the year, but is now missing some wide open receivers, and that is not due to him being pressured by the opposing D.

GS can win the game, but they are going to have to play as well as they have all season to do so. Navy is a tough customer at home.

Actually unless you beat Navy, your perfect success in the conference simply ratifies our conference is the weakest. Great for you, bad for the conference, go win your OOC game. Your mauling of Savannah State is much like our beating Southern, nothing to talk about.

You're right about Savannah State, and you don't see any Eagle fans even mentioning that game. OOC wins are great for the conference, since we tend to have the most "bottom dwellers" according to the rankings.

It is too bad that GS doesn't meet ULL or stAte, but we don't set our conference schedule. All of these games are about matchups. ULL and GS both ran up a big score on TX State. GS let them back in the game by getting a bit conservative and having some things not go their way late in the game. I think the TX State D matched up better against GS than it did against ULL. Franchione really understands option football and his team had a chance to learn from their mistakes against Navy. Had GS been able to throw the ball a bit better, things would have opened up a bit more.

GS and ULL will eventually play, but with different personnel. It is too bad that the game didn't happen this season.

I think all you guys should petition to allow GS and App to switch conference schedules for next year if you're that upset about it.

You idjit... They want you to lose a game so they have either a) a shot at sharing the conference title (stAte), or b) have the conference title outright (Cajuns).

Hell, I wanted you guys (and the Cajuns) to lose as well, until we had 2 conference losses, meaning mathematically, we can no longer have a share of the title.

(11-09-2014 01:46 PM)slycat Wrote:  Texas St at South Alabama - Bobcats are still super inconsistent from quarter to quarter. World beaters at won moment and JV at the next. Finally saw good play calling against GS and it almost paid off. USA is injury depleted but I don't know if that will change by Saturday. I think it will be close but TXST will convert a 4th and 40 to win. Winner becomes bowl eligible.

App St at Arkansas St - The Mountaineers are on a three game win streak and looking like the team I expected when they came to the conference. The Red Wolves are playing a lot better since the UL game. App St won't have weather to help them in this one and stAte continues to roll.

Georgia Southern at Navy - This game should be exciting. The Golden Eagles er Eagles will have a shot to grab a nice OOC win for the SBC. Ellison needs to get healthy as the Bobcats showed the Midshipmen how to slow the team down. This is TO vs TO so I assume they have good game plans for each other. I think it'll be close but the Eagles get a big win on the road.

Troy at Idaho - Oh geez this ones a tricky one to pick. Troy is hot or cold and Idaho is struggling. I think I'll give Idaho the nod just cause of the travel Troy has to endure.

UL at ULM - Rivalry game for these two. Time for a week of smack talk from mostly UL fans and a couple ULM fans who are disheartened after losing 3 straight. ULM has to win to keep their bowl hopes alive. I think UL wins easy but then I thought that last time when they played their other in state rival and got spanked at home.

TXST over USA by 10
Ark State by 10 over App
Troy over Idaho by 17
ULM pulls the upset by 10 over ULL

the only prediction I'll make for the GS v Navy game is that I will have a considerable amount of Jack Daniels in my system to combat the 40 degree temperature.
