Quote:MSU is not as good as last years MSU team (see NIU and BG), particularly the defense, and the rest of the league is REALLY DOWN, as is the MAC.
I think offensively, they're roughly as good. Problem is, on D. What Urban Meyer said before the game is that with MSU's strong D, they wanted to find their weaknesses in their D and go that way. And they absolutely did that. MSU could NOT stop them. At all.
What gets me is that MSU does man-coverage which gives a great passing team room to do some damage. But, when having man-coverage, you would expect the run D to be really solid. OSU could run all over MSU that game. It was hard to watch.
Even when MSU was up 21-14, I was like "This isn't good. MSU can't stop OSU. No matter what, they need to -- otherwise, they'll lose. OSU can't move the ball the way they have been the Whole game, right?" Well, they did. Ugh.
Quote:I really wish we weren't playing at Ohio State next year.
We could have a pretty good team next year and still get drilled 63-10. Outside of collecting a large paycheck, it's hard to see anything positive come out of that game.
Hopefully no injuries. We will get drilled like a red headed step child, most likely. But I guess you could say the same thing about playing any Top 10 team from the P5 who is historically dominant.
That's why I say next year's record is not going to be as good or better than this year's (unless we collapse Right now to EMU, CMU, and NIU). We have MSU at home (where 33-45% of fans will be MSU fans), @OSU, @Georgia-Southern (8-2 right now), @NIU, and @Toledo. Fleck won't be leaving at the end of next year, that's virtually guaranSheed. I just hope we hit 6-6 next year. I'd be ESTATIC if we hit 7-5.
