RE: Sorry if I bother you guys
The problem with the AAC is that it does not win enough games in nonconference play. I think that the bottom schools could stand to schedule weaker opponents until they have built up well enough to take on the bigger ones.

You can't capitalize on a good market going 1-3 before AAC play (I'm looking at you, Tulane!). It's just that simple.

Don't get me wrong, Aresco getting this league the tv exposure it got was phenomenal, but still, this league is full of huge outstanding markets and should of been rewarded $$$ much much more.

BigHouston, Why then didn't CUSA get rewarded $$$ when they were full of huge outstanding markets? (our market included)
Over the years CUSA had the following markets but lousy tv $:
Houston
Dallas
Chicago--Depaul
Cincinnati
Tampa
New Orleans
Orlando
St Louis
Milwaukee--Marquette
Louisville
Charlotte
Memphis
El Paso
What has changed that suddenly has the a majority of the same markets that couldn't get the big bucks then, now worthy of the big bucks now?

That is a good question. I will say that cusa was never stable and always considered a pass through. Also contracts have jumped exponentially since we joined. I also think the exposure provided didn't allow us to show what we could do and as such we didn't get a good deal. We signed some very long contracts. Lastly I think that programs have grown. Cusa averages in the mid twenties for attendance and has growing programs. I think we are looked at as more mature and we are also expected to do more. It's up to is to earn it with wins.

I agree with the bolded. The pass-through process is something that the commissioner has promoted and encouraged in the past. Perhaps the members may assist him in changing that stance/perception.

However, the world of reality; what else can he do? If USM has 3 straight 11 win seasons, sell-out games, and a bowl win; what could he do to retain the Golden Eagles if the AAC members voted to extend an invitation? There aren't many programs that could demand and get concessions like Boise did; perhaps ND, BYU, or maybe Army.

...and Rabbit_in_Red, keep posting.

Nothing was bolded?

Not sure what is going on.

I see bolded "I will say that cusa was never stable and always considered a pass through. ". Hope that helps.
