RE: NIU vs. Roosevelt (Exhibition) Predictions
I know many people on the MAC board are not happy about MAC selling out to ESPN with the ESPN3 thing, but its hard to argue about it for basketball. Instead of our customary 2 games televised this year, there are 19 opportunities to see NIU on ESPN3, plus DePaul on Fox Sports 1.

Baker will keep the sweats on and wear a sports jacket and tie over them. That is all you see on TV sitting down. I would see Chick Hearn dress this way with shorts for many Lakers games.

NIU beat Roosevelt 71 - 44. We were okay, especially considering it was an exhibition and the first game.

Anthony Johnson hurt his ankle. Looked like he was in some pain. Hope it's not serious.

Our radio people, I heard will stay with radio.
Baker will do women's telecasts when the schedule allows and
The guy who does women 's radio will do the men's games on ESPN3.
When schedules conflict I believe someone else will fill in
On the TV thing. Enjoyed watching the VB game but
the one announcer didn't seem to know
much about the sport.

I thought the scoreboard at the convo was supposed to be upgraded last year. It's still the same unwatchable video screen. What happened?

Yes, it is pretty bad. Not sure when it will be upgraded.

A lot to work on. Missed layups and free throws. At least we won compared to the women. Will this be Bennett's last year?
I heard the sixth man grille has no cookies and wants you to buy food. True?

RE: NIU vs. Roosevelt (Exhibition) Predictions
You have always had to buy food in the 6th man grille. Also, NIU does not need to be spending money on cookies. If you want free food buy a Nelson suite pass. Team still cannot shoot. They will overwhelm some teams because they are so athletic. They will not win anything with-out Highsmith. Dontel is just a great scorer. The other guys are so inconsistent. That being said, I am worried that Dontel may not play this year. I hope I am wrong but its a feeling I am getting. Chuks also will develop into a good scorer.

For those of you who have not picked up your passes for the grille, you will be in for a little surprise. The lanyard passes are bigger and have numbers corresponding to each men's and women's game. They will now punch the passes for each game and also stamp your hand. These passes are thick plastic and are not easy to punch. The bad thing is that you will not be allowed to bring in a guest this year. So if you want to bring someone to the game who is not a donor, you can go in but not your guest. This is the first year you cannot bring a guest. It must have been abused last year.

I only went into the grille before the women's game because I was pretty disgusted. There was no popcorn, coffee, or hot chocolate out. It is still free, but you have to ask for it at the counter. For the popcorn, you are handed one small bag.

I heard that last year, the grille had a lot of non-donors get in, so they are tightening it up. Whose fault is that if they weren't checking passes closely? Seems like they made it worse for the donors they are supposedly trying to please.

The women lost their exhibition game to Lewis 60-49. I think you will be able to count the women's wins this year on one hand. They will struggle to get any wins.

They have several players out with injuries. It was tough seeing Amanda Corral with a cast on her left hand, but she is supposed to be back by mid-December.

Thanks for all the updates. I think if SF hears about these issues, he will be able to make some changes.
