He will be fine in a few weeks but I meant immediately. Similar to DRose right now.

If, Highsmith and Johnson are going to be out, the Armstead brothers should be starting together. Also, Chuks will sub for both of them. We will beat Aurora but Idaho is a better shooting team than NIU. With-out Highsmith and Johnson that game is a toss up. Iowa game not looking too good. At some point the basketball gods have to shine on NIU, don't they?

I don't know if Id assume Johnson will be out for the year, it could just be a bad sprain and he could be back in a few weeks in time for Iowa for all we know. I have this feeling Highsmith is going to be back before MAC season starts, reports were he was progressing nicely, and I think he will be good to go when needed most. As far as Iowa, NIU was obviously not winning that game with a full healthy roster anyway.

I don't think Johnson will be out for more than a few games. I also felt they had a chance in the IOWA game.

In his last 6-games, Travon Baker is 3-34, that is under 10%. That's just really hard to do!

RE: NIU vs. Roosevelt (Exhibition) Predictions
The most frustrating thing to watch is when a team penetrates well and gets good shots but can't find the basket. I certainly hope our shooting (including FTs) improves from last year or it could be another long year. I saw the missed shots at the exhibition game, but I'm chalking it up at this point to it being the first game with competition. We'll see how it goes from this point forward.

There's that word again. "Heavy." Why are things so heavy in the near the basket? Is there a problem with the Earth's gravitational pull?

RE: NIU vs. Roosevelt (Exhibition) Predictions
NIU is not a bad free-throw shooting team. Last year, NIU 684%- OPPONENTS 661%. They also were at 700% in conference games. We have one horrible free-throw shooter(Bowie) who brings the % down. A bigger problem is the missing wide open shots and lay-ups. They probably can get away with missing the open shots but not the lay-ups. Example: Bowie was 1-10 and Baker was 0-7 shooting mostly lay-ups and wide open jumpers. This is why Highsmith is so important because he makes lay-ups consistently.

Im kind of with dog fan on this one, while it is alarming somewhat to shoot under 40 percent vs Roosevelt, you have to wait 3 or 4 games before making any larger generalizations. Tons of rust to be expected in the exhibition. Highsmith will be back, I just think this team is so focused on the MAC this year, the goal is to have him healthy for that. Can't say I blame them, no need to rush him back.

Bring negativity after the 1st game of the season against an inferior opponent means nothing at this point. You have to wait these things out for atleast the first 3-5 games.

Rednblack, what negativity? I said NIU is a decent free-throw shooting team. I also just stated a couple of shooting stats that are factual from the game. No one has predicted greater things for NIU then I have. Its not negative to use facts unless you are a Republican!
