Chatting at TowsonFans.com for Villanova game
Again, would like more than two people at the chat. I know it's been a rough year but Delaware and JMU people don't give up after an off-year (some might). They just get pissed.

Alson on Ch. 54, CAATV, Verizon 514, not sure about the Comcast number.

RE: Chatting at TowsonFans.com for hoops game and tomorrow's football game
Well Matt, I am sorry that I did not log in from the game in Philly, I'd rather go to the game than chat at home.
The fan base is tepid and is not supportive of the program, they are bandwagon types who come when it's chic to do so. We are down to averaging 7527 fans a game this year, which is good for 6th in the CAA. With the 2014 team now officially out of playoff contention I would imagine that that number would go lower in the season finale against William & Mary.
That's down from 8473 in 2013, 8691 in 2012, and 8949 in 2011, but north of the crowd average in 2010, which was 7107 and 2009, which was 6283 in Ambrose's first year. We averaged 4980 in Gordy's last season in 2009, so we are still well above that line, but I also know that Gordy never got the support that Rob has across the board, especially in terms of coaching salaries, operating budget, and since the CAA back then was a lot more rugged than it is in 2014.
With a likely 5-7 finish (if we lose to URI I will be demoralized) It's sad to see how quickly we have fallen off the level that had been 2011-12-13. We are no longer competitive with the better teams in the league, and the CAA is a shell of what it used to be. I am disappointed that our recruiting and player development cannot keep pace with a program like New Hampshire despite having a better facility, a more highly paid coaching staff, a more talent rich environment to recruit from and a better sports city to draw from.

Yawn. You know the tailgating fiasco had a lot to do with that attendance drop more than the team. I know, it was Rob that pushed the girl off the truck.
I love how it's all about resources. So Rob should go to a championship every year with the resources he has? Huh?

So would Delaware, JMU, W&M and everybody else in the CAA.

Funny how the talk in the preseason was that we should be moving up to FBS. Now it's back to this crap. Even you die hards don't expect consistently performing teams or fan interest. We have better fans for high school ball, or even junior high ball here in Texas. So glad I left the east coast.

Only the Debbie Downers show up for an expected loss to Villanova. When we beat Delaware on the road, where are they? I guess rampant negativity is better than nothing.
It's been a long year and going 6-6 will be a success in my opinion. Sure, there were several recruiting mistakes that we've regurgitated on both boards. Time to finish strong and look to a much-improved 2015.

I did not attend the game at Delaware, was out of the country. Nice win over a decent Hens team, and on the road at that. Second straight win in Newark, which is the first time in a long time. Puts a fresh coat of paint on the pig that is this 2014 season, and hopefully it does not give justification not to make some of the changes that have been needed for the past few years.
Negativity? Hardly. Reality, yes.
The 2014 schedule had 3 sure wins on it for out of conference games and we went 2-1. Bad. To lose in the season opener, at home, to a bad NEC team, after having the whole off-season to prep smells like vapid overconfidence. Akin to the 2012 opener at Kent State, only that was a good team at CCSU is really bad.
They are 2-8 now in the NEC with wins over Towson and URI.
The wins over Delaware State (2-8) and NC Central (5-5) were expected. CAA teams should never ever lose to teams from the MEAC.
Everyone expected the WVU beat down.
Loss to Maine at home also brutal. They are 4-5.
Loss at home to Stony Brook was bad. They are 4-6.
Losses at JMU and Villanova by a combined 104-21 score. Expected, but not by those margins. Embarrassing.
The 2 point win over a 1-9 Elon team at home was another head scratcher.
Beat William & Mary, yeah that would be impressive. More likely that this is a 5-7 season with a loss to the Tribe and a win on the road at URI.
So Matt, would you be content with all of the same coaches coming back and no changes being made to the staff?
Do you chalk up the disappointing season to being cyclical and it should be expected?
Is the bad season due to just not getting enough transfers in to make up for the lack of player development?
This is not negative, these are honest questions.
Not sure how you can feel player development is going on when there is not a quarterback on the roster that is capable of being a CAA level performer, consistently. I thought this was Jammer's claim to fame?
