He could certainly still lobby people after retiring from the Board and then he wouldn't have to worry about looking like he's playing favorites because he'd have no official capacity.

UAB is not in control of its own university. It really doesn't matter if the Carr study is in favor of upgrading UAB football. Any upgrades will not be approved by the UABOM.

a feasibility study was done on the OCS, too, wasn't it? We all saw how that turned it when it was determined that it was a sound investment. Makes me look back on what they've constantly bombarded our program with in terms of criteria to meet, and if the slightest progress is shown, they come crashing down on us and throw some other politically motivated obstacle in its' path. We could have averaged 40K per "home" game & won 7 games a season, it wouldn't have mattered, their diabolical minds are made up. I don't expect anything less from them than the absolute worst. And you're right, UAB has no control over its' own destiny, and dare I say, the city of Birmingham is almost a mirror image in this regard.

I used to work with his sister at UAB and I'm pretty sure she's a UAB alum.

For the "Decroded" Piece of Crap's retirement at the February meeting, should we UAB fans attend in green and gold get up and cheer loudly to chants of UAB! UAB! UAB! when a proclamation is made for his many years of service to the UABOT?

When I try to make sense of all the UABOM has done to UAB, evil is the only explanation that makes the most sense to me.
