I put it out there for any Rockets passing through Chicago for a ride and havent gotten much response.

A UT grad and I living in Chicago looking for a ride from the city to Dekalb for the game.

Any Huskie fans looking for some friendly banter/rivalry and care to take us with them. We can help with gas and beers of course.

I work up in Niles, could figure out something. Where will you be at and what time are you heading out there?

How many of you & what time?

I have a friend I could contact. I believe he is coming from Chicago. He works at various places in & around the city in media so it may depend on where he is for work that day.

theres 2 of us at the moment.

I work in the loop but live up near Wrigley. Either or would be fine.

If worst comes to worst, you could take the train to elburn and get a cab/ride from there.

As of right now I am planning on taking a half day and heading out there sometime between noon and 1. However, there some variables in play on my end, and depending on your plans I could adapt more. Shoot me a PM and we can try to hammer something out.

Working some angles here in the city and might have garnered a vehicle. Will keep you guys posted if I still need a ride.

Because that would mean a huge tax increase for the DeKalb Co residents. They are also afraid that the train will bring in undesirables to the area.

I understand the thoughts. I moved to Chicago for trains and my once every two year visit to Dekalb is a bit difficult this time around without a car.

How easy is it to get a cab from Elburn and then back to Elburn for the metra?

I live right by the train station in La Fox (stop prior to Elburn). If you decide to opt for that route, I might be able to provide carpool.

I think it would be incredibly difficult unless you arrange/reserve ahead of time. Elburn is a very small town and who knows how many taxis, if any, they have? You would also have a very difficult time in DeKalb. These towns do not have a regular taxi service. There is a sort of taxi service in DeKalb, but this would definitely need to be arranged ahead of time. Plus, the cabs do not run at all times.

Can you take us back to La Fox station then after the game? You might be the best bet I've been able to find.

To answer your question about the return trip, dropping you guys off back at the train station wouldn’t be a problem.
