What does this have to do with Tennessee and Virginia Tech?

Ex-USM coach in question went to UTK.

They don't care about hoops unless they beat UK or the UoM, that's it.

USM had 40 losses in football the 8 years prior(2004-11)- and have had 27 now the last 3 years. Bad enough to where this years 3-6 record is a steep improvement...

Tulsa looking like they may be going in the same direction in football now after a really nice run in C-USA.

Is the NCAA that mad at N.C.?

"“The NCAA is so mad at Kentucky it will probably slap another two years probation on Cleveland State.’’ Tarkanian uttered the famous quip after Kentucky and coach Eddie Sutton found themselves in the NCAA crosshairs. But the line has stood the test of time, emblematic of not only Tark’s battles with the organization but also of the long-held belief that the NCAA practices selective enforcement."

Don't be silly. This was what Miko predicted was about to happen to UConn. They just chose to punish Southern Miss instead.
His omni-directional precognosticator must be out of whack.

Possibly Florida too, but that's about it.

Quote:The Southern Miss basketball program is under investigation by the NCAA for potential rules violations that occurred under former coach Donnie Tyndall, who is now the head coach at Tennessee.

A source close to the program told Bleacher Report that the NCAA's investigation centers on how tuition, living expenses and other fees were paid for "Prop 48" recruits who signed with the Golden Eagles but were academically ineligible out of high school or junior college.

Even though they weren't on scholarship, the players in question enrolled in classes at Southern Miss, lived in off-campus apartments and spent a year earning enough academic credits to make them eligible the following season, when they were placed on scholarship. This is standard practice under NCAA Proposition 48 rules, but the financial support these players may have received is under investigation.

This is the last thing Southern Miss needs.

I knew when the North Carolina cheating scandal broke, that there would be repercussions.

Actually Kentucky is one of the programs the NCAA likes to punish. Sutton and UK got hit pretty hard. Rupp and UK got the death penalty in 52 and had many of its players declared ineligible after an unbeaten season the next year.

But maybe USM is getting hit since Mississippi St. was trying to buy Cam Newton but got no penalties.

That was a long time ago. No way UK wants the NCAA anywhere near Lexington, at least not while Calipari is the coach.

Nah, if they were that close, he would have already left for another school.
