Quote:Also besides head to head which would be all sorts of effed up if there was a 4 way tie it goes to beat crossover record? Which NIU wouldn't win
It wouldn't go to crossover record according to the UBBullRun website (SB Nation affiliate). How I read it...
1. Records against each other
- "the team with the best head-to-head record amongst the tied teams wins the tie-breaker"
- If there is no single winner, start again with all of them at #2
2. Records against those in the division
- "Record of tied teams within the division"
- If there is no single winner from here, continue to #3, but anyone who is not tied as winner is eliminated from the analysis
3. Your East Division SoS (by their conference record)
- "Comparison of conference winning percentage of cross-over opponents of tied teams"
- If there is no single winner from here, continue to #4, but anyone who is not tied as winner is eliminated from the analysis
4. Your comparative W/L vs East Division
- "Record of tied teams versus cross-division opponents in rank order"
IF this is true (I could be wrong, read the article) -- then by my analysis, Toledo would win.
In #1 (Record amongst each other):
Toledo (2-1, loss to NIU)
NIU (1-2, loss to CMU, WMU)
WMU (1-2, loss to Toledo, CMU)
CMU (2-1, loss to Toledo)
Since no single winner, try #2 (Again, I think it reads that only After #2 begins, do you Not start from scratch)
Records against those in the West (basically, who lost most to an East team wins, oddly enough):
Toledo (4-1, loss to NIU)
NIU (3-2, loss to CMU, WMU)
WMU (3-2, loss to Toledo, CMU)
CMU (3-2, loss to Toledo, BSU)
TOLEDO WINS (because their 2nd loss would be to BGSU in the East). BOO.
WMU would win #3, but a final winner Toledo would be chosen before that.
