It's been the opinion of many that the sanctions imposed by the NCAA Penn State were over reaching and violated their own rules. Now we know coercion was used to impose them. Penn State should eviscerate Mark Emmert and the NCAA in court but I doubt the leadership has it in them. Those guilty of wrong doing at PSU will be punished by the courts. You do realize that when Penn Staters complain about NCAA sanctions that are largely not in effect anymore and never really had a huge impact it makes you guys sound like you care more about football than about the whole Sandusky affair and its victims. I'm not saying the NCAA probably didn't have jurisdiction nor that they probably didn't do a bit of strong arming or at least taking advantage of the media shitstorm, but when you guys complain about a punishment that most consider mild it comes off petty and gives people credibility in labeling the PSU fanbase as cultish. My advice and I say this as a Penn State alumnus (but not a fan of the athletic programs that loyalty exclusively lies with my BA and soon to be MBA alma mater in Rutgers obviously) its time to move the hell on already and build a program that doesn't have serious organizational culture lapses. And I'm not saying this to troll or start a fight, but just state as diplomatically and politely as possible how this stuff comes off to other people outside the Penn State fanbase.

If you want to think I don't care about the victims or care more about the football team than the victims is your business, I guess, but that doesn't make it true.

Well it's like that kind of thing happens every day. With no real precedent, both sides wealthy enough to lawyer up, and congress and public opinion focused on every move, something had to give.

Maybe I wasn't clear that I was not saying that people who feel the way you do don't care about the victims of Sandusky. What I was saying that for many people is that it comes off like football is more important than the victims, regardless of whether or not anyone actually feels that way.
