I disagree. On paper last year's team was way better. 4 senior guards, all of which had big time experience. Shaq and Austin on the block. A senior grad transfer forward. Highly ranked freshmen (KI & NK).

This year's team has a bunch of unknowns. Is Kedren going to be the same play he was at Vandy? Are the JUCOs any good? Can Nick play the 3. Can KI play better?

I think there are more, but you get the point

This season is all about assembling the pieces and preparing for the future, with a nice little NCAA tournament appearance thrown in for good measure. Anytime you're invited to the Big Dance, it's been a good year.

The Caveat is if Johnson has a monster year, then we could be a major surprise and make some noise this season. No matter what happens, it will be fun to watch a new breed of Tigers take the floor.

Winner!!!

RE: 2014-15 Tiger Basketball Season Predictions
I think my earlier expectations were too high. I still haven't seen our team play yet, but if they can't beat division 2 cbu at home, i'm thinking they will have more than 10 losses now.

I'll add one more thing. Since pastner has been our coach, the tigers have never really had a team identity except remaining positive in postgame interviews after losses. The only other team identity i can think of is being soft, inconsistent and a little bit boring. I'll add early postseason exits as another team identity.

RE: 2014-15 Tiger Basketball Season Predictions
Id like to amend my 8 seed prediction. That's the worst backcourt that I've seen in all my years of watching Tiger basketball. I'm too young to remember the Iba years but seeing that last night makes me long for Harry Allen and Dinno Daniels.

We'll be lucky to have a winning record if we play that we did last night.

RE: 2014-15 Tiger Basketball Season Predictions
Seeing how we have lost every exhibition game and to a Div 2 opponent, I cannot imagine we will win many.

I predict, at best 18-13. However, I fear it will be worse.

Will not be surprised if it is so bad that JP will need to be concerned about his employment.

RE: 2014-15 Tiger Basketball Season Predictions
In looking at the schedule I think we'll be 6-5 heading into conference play on 12/31/14 with losses to Wichita State, Baylor, Illinois / Indiana State, Stephen F. Austin, and Oklahoma State.

I'm not real sure about Indiana State so 7-4 isn't unreasonable.
