Most early recruiting rankings are based on the number of verbals as much as the caliber of those verbals. By Jan. everyone will have a large number of recruits. At that point you get a much truer picture.

This program’s had two championships in 108 years. It’s never won a bowl game. So, what we’ve done is try to make this a place special

This is the second time in two weeks P.J. has said this publicly (he used a similar quote in David Drew's piece last week). I really wish he'd stop saying this. I can completely understand why it rubs former players and/or alumni the wrong way.

RE: Sports Illustrated Q&A with Fleck
I've made no bones about the fact that I am one of those guys he mentions that doesn't like him. I'm probably never really going to like him so whatever.

But this was actually a pretty good read. Nothing really new to those of us that follow the program, same comments and clichés, but I did enjoy the article. The only thing I really rolled my eyes at was the comment about 30,000 doing the RTB dance at the 4th quarter. We haven't had close to 30k there since he has been around, so that was a little bit of a stretch, but again, whatever.

I think the part that I actually may have liked the most was the comment about knowing that some people don't like him and some people do. At least it shows that he is aware of it and that he's not going to change what he's doing because guys like me don't like him or his style. I can respect that.

Bottom line. The team is head and shoulders better than they were a year ago. And it gives Bronco fans hope.

"We haven't had close to 30k . . . ."

There probably will be over 30,000 fans at the Michigan State game.

I don't know -- I have no problem with it. But ideally, he should have coupled it with "This program's had it's moments, it's time in the spotlight... great players, a lot forged. And everyone should remember that and be proud of it. However..." -- then add what he's saying. I think you can't assume it's "been great" for the sake of tradition & pride. If we went 6-6 last year, I don't think we'd be as good as we are now this year. You need some hunger. You need a goal that hasn't been reached, and to loudly make it known, IMO.

Yeah, I caught that too. He should have added "possibly" in there as a descriptor. Not implying that's what our stadium's like during a typical game, no -- unless he's referring to a home opener in the next year since we're winning (even IF playing a D1AA; no MSU required).

Quote:There probably will be over 30,000 fans at the Michigan State game.

Oh, that's guaranSheed. We've been over 35,000 before. Our record is against a D1AA (Indiana State) at 36k. With MSU as our home opener, we're going to be closer to 40,000 than 30,000.

Where do we fit 10 extra thousand? I have played in front of 35 and was at the record game. Hills were filled where do we put them? Roof of seelye? No place for extra stands? They are NOT sitting up with me.

RE: Sports Illustrated Q&A with Fleck
I was at all the games above 35 and sat on the hills for some of them and it seemed like there was room for more people. I also think they could bring in some extra stands in the corners if they need to (and if it's not too expensive).

Well, you mean the extra 3,639 fans (our record was 36,361 in 2000). Since then, haven't we added extra room on the corners? Squeeze kids on the hills? Sit on the cheerleaders' laps?

I thought we actually lost a little room with seelye center having smaller bleachers under it.

Oh, okay. Hmmm. Hopefully it doesn't penalize us too much. IMO, it will be a sold out game. It's just a matter of how many sardines can we pack in there. And we'll want WMU fans to BUY ASAP for it! We don't need EMoo green decorating the place.
