RE: Pomeroy's preseason BB rankings
Tulsa seems a bit high imho I would say 50-65 might be more appropriate considering we haven't seen Frank Haith coach a game yet. The talent is definitely there. I just don't know how they'll adjust to the new system which relies a lot on quality outside shooting. (Which Tulsa was terrible at last season)

I think SMU should be above Memphis.

Not that I have any idea re Memphis but SMU should certainly be higher than 36. With the addition of 9 new players we *might* find out what the Tigers have during their first real game - Wichita State.

Yeah, that is odd. Especially that high all together.

SMU should be closer to Memphis, and Temple is a top-75 team in my opinion...

When it's all said and done hopefully those change dramatically. What I'm afraid of is having a split conference like last year. A good Tulsa and Temple should help but the other schools need to win OOC especially if their OOC is against cupcakes.

Still have a good shot of getting 6 NCAA tournament bids - impressive.

Houston is the one I just don't understand. They should be able to have a perennial top 40 team just recruiting the Houston area & they do have some impressive history as well. Doesn't make sense.

That is as high as I've seen anybody on Tulsa. They're putting them right on the bubble for the NCAAs.

Shouldn't matter, Houston has talent just like the city of Memphis. Memphis has been down but not 200+ down, regardless who was coaching. And with Sampson as coach, that alone should get them some respect.

I know it's a few months down the line, but does anyone know if the AAC has more representatives on the selection committee? Or, any representatives?

IIRC, the NCAA basketball committee and the NCAA selection committee are 2 separate groups.

The group you cited works on rule changes and similar stuff.

#46 is fair for UC

LOT of talent, Mick's most talented team by far since taking the HC job at UC but a LOT of new faces. Going to be a learning curve.
