There was nothing wrong with these uniforms. The font in particular on the new top looks like a CYO league. And please tell me that guy isn't an actual player.

Ugly font, ugly shorts, ugly colors. Possibly the ugliest uniform in the conference.

ECU should embrace the black road jerseys and use the purple more as a trim color.

At least Duke uses an official color as the Trim, Gray is not an ECU color, if it was Gold it would look better but it's still bad.

I applaud them for trying something new for a new conference, but this just fell flat.

Don't like it. For a program with little tradition that had drastically changed uniforms nearly every season for several decades we finally had gotten a classic, yet modern look and basically kept it intact including the CIT year where we actually won something and got on sportscenter and national TV a few times.




It was basically the Duke shorts style and North Carolina's block lettering. Certainly not bad programs to try to emulate.

We had several color variations of purple, yellow, white, grey and black alternatives I doubt we get to use now.



It's really hard to screw it up when you got North and South Carolina basically having the same block style for decades yet we figured a way to.

I just don't get why we had to use that font. Looks good in an end zone but horrible stacked on a bball jersey

I'm not a big fan, but those aren't the matching shorts.

I think they look like women's bball unis more than anything.

IMO, the classic basketball look is block letters with space in between them.

They grey ones looked awesome too.

The Black Uniforms and the Grey ones look nice.

We had to use the lettering because Shelly Binnegar helped us spend $500,000 dollars on rebranding and she wants her font on everything possible. They are so caught up in this stupid a** font that they arent using common sense at all

Fugly. They had it just fine and dandy with the grey and black ones...then they go and do this. smh ecu.

Why is a great question.

I love the new font in the endzones and many other places, but I don't really like how it looks on the basketball uniforms. That said, I'm withholding final judgement until I see it with new shorts.

I am not really a fan of this uniform. The purple, while it is our color, could be sharper for the basketball court and lighting. I could be wrong. The color may look fine on television.

I am not a fan of the gold font used for the "East Carolina". Once again, it may be our color and may look fine on television, but the photograph does not do this look any favors.

With all of this said- I would prefer to win in ugly uniforms than spend to much time critiquing the uniform. Please, please, please let ECU build a basketball team that competes with the upper teams in this conference. The American needs lots of good teams and ECU fits the bill to grow. Get it done, Lebo!
