It's amazing how quick they can call these races.

Saying that...worst start possible for Democrats. Especially with Virginia looking really close.

Capito wins in West Virginia. GOP +1 in the Senate.

John Kasich called the winner at poll closing. Another ouch for Democrats.

West Virginia called for Republicans.

Kasich called for Governor in Ohio at closing time. No surprise there.

I live in Cincinnati and don't remember seeing one ad for FitzGerald. Pretty amazing landslide in such a swing state.

All the precincts reporting are from rural areas. Richmond and the Hampton Roads area will likely be even (but leaning blue), but it's all over for Gillespie once NoVA's results come in.

Obama recorded a robocall for Warner that played last night to 1,000,000 households. The dems saw something late in this race that wasnt good.

20% in in Virginia ... Gillespie still up 30% over his polling just days ago, and still has a double digit lead.

Wuh?

Did Warner pull a Cantor in that he didnt take the campaign serious enough? Looks like a chunk of independents who they did not think were undecided, but were in the tank for them, suddenly switched to Gillespie.

The Warner one is the first "big" surprise I've seen (granted, they're probably holding the NoVA votes as long as they can).

Hagan-Tillis, I'm surprised it's as big a gap as it has been so far (Fox says 52-46): Note: It just changed to Hagan 49-48.

Actually, margin of victory for McConnell in Kentucky was a surprise. But nothing as big as this Virginia race at the MOMENT. Will have to see how it plays out over the next couple hours.

G, I disagree on McConnell... Grimes basically was guaranteed a loser when the audio got out about her "helping harm" the Coal industry. If McConnell didn't win by double digit %age, I'd have been shocked.

Btw.. there was a report that we won't know all the key races until at least 4 a.m. in the morning (EST).

Yesterday the margin was 8 in the most optimistic poll. Currently he's winning by almost twice that.

Does anyone see any court cases or massive recounts like when MN senator when AL Franken was declared the winner after several days of recounts ?

RE: Open Thread - Election 2014
Anyone notice Crist and Scott were neck-and-neck in Florida Governor race? I get a feeling that's not a good sign for the Republican candidates.

The Blaze is reporting that CNN said that Crist got denied his request to extend voting hours in Broward County... Hmm... wonder if he's worried about not winning much elsewhere?

LOL @ this tweet;

Scott vs Crist is the most Giant Douche vs Turd Sandwich race in the entire country. Even more so than Hagan vs Tillis.

No argument there, GTS.. but I didn't think Crist would have that much support considering...

Crist had been polling ahead of Scott.

Probably a preemptive request so that when the dems try to pull this, which they do just about every election, they can move to have it shut down.
