Lauren Hill--Terminally Ill Basketball Player
I don't know if any of you have been following this, but its the most amazing and inspiring thing ever. 19 year Lauren Hill is dying of brain cancer--soon. Yet she wants nothing more than to play basketball in college. She plays for DIII Mount St. Joseph and got to play in front of 10,000 at Xavier University yesterday for her first college game. In spite of everything she still gets up at 5:30 AM for team practice. Puts things in perspective.

As a parent, it makes me tear up more than a bit. Yet her courage and grace is beyond inspiring.

ESPN was going to broadcast that game I believe.

I spent 30 days in Motts Children's Hospital a couple years back. You'd be shocked by how many kids are there with cancer. Amazingly, they cope with it better than their parents. I'm not overly religious, but I pray every night for the safety of my kids. I couldn't bear the idea if them not having a chance at a full life.

If there's one thing that makes me question God it's the death of children and young people.
