RE: Updated national title odds
Think those odds will change when the actual SEC team is known. Right now- you don't know who is going.

Pretty interesting and telling that Notre Dame isn't on this list.

I love the fact that people keep doubting FSU.

RE: Updated national title odds
we'll learn more about FSU this weekend after Notre Dame plays Arizona St..

pretty much right now though- FSU has to win out. With SEC, Oregon, TCU and Mich St- probably not going to beat out any of those 4 teams.

I still don't think you'll know more about FSU due to the ND/Ariz St game. Football is a game of matchups so some teams will match up better with others. It wouldn't surprise me if ASU won by 2 TD's.

FSU gets the kitchen sink thrown at them every week. They've taken on the role of public enemy #1 so it's hard to compare there games against everyone else's.

RE: Updated national title odds
problem is ND is FSU's best win. If NSU got beat by 2+ td's- that doesn't help FSU at all. Their next best win is vs a very questionable Clemson team.

FSU controls their own fate right now- but man if they lose, they are out if SEC, Oregon, TCU, and Mich St take care of business.

I'm not convinced that FSU is a top 5 team or that Notre Dame is a top 10. I think FSU's best win so far is Louisville, not Notre Dame. I think FSU will have at least one loss going into the playoffs and Notre Dame could have as many as three.

Since I believe Alabama will beat Mississippi State at home. I think the top four teams will end up being:

1. Alabama
2. Oregon
3. Michigan State
4. Mississippi State/TCU

If TCU doesn't drop another one, then they will get in, but I think they will lose one down the stretch, allowing an 11-1 Mississippi State to get back in.

What does FSU have to do to convince you? 24 game win streak. Defending national champs. How are they any different than what Auburn did last year?

Alabama still living on its image and not actual on-the-field play

Bama has played an incredibly weak schedule so far, and already lost to the toughest team on that schedule....time to play the other tough teams in the SEC West now.....LSU, Miss State, and Auburn in this last stretch....good luck with that

RE: Updated national title odds
Auburn had wins over Alabama, Georgia, and Missouri. WAY better than what wins FSU has this year(ND and Clemson- both could be barely top 25 by end of the year).

If FSU loses 1 game, they are in deep trouble... Alabama(or any SEC champion will be in). Oregon at 12-1 will be in. Michigan St at 12-1 will be in. TCU at 11-1 will be in.

And the thing is- Alabama favored every game going forward. Oregon same thing. Michigan St same thing. TCU same thing. So FSU has little room for error.

FSU certainly has the easier road but that doesn't make them the best team, they certain are not.

RE: Updated national title odds
So the same Alabama team that got beat down by Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl. The same Georgia team that lost to Clemson earlier in the year last year and who Auburn beat on a fluke hail mary. That same Georgia team who had to take 2OT's to beat Georgia Tech and lost 5 games. The same Missouri team that gave up 59 points to Auburn. A top 5 team giving up 59 points doesn't seem right to me. So I don't see how those teams were much better than what FSU has beaten thus far.

Are we talking about last season or this season?

BTW, many people are going to argue TCU should be considered and they gave up 59 points to a team THIS season.

That's why I have a hard time with TCU...61 points to Baylor is ridiculous.

As for the other stuff, we were comparing last year's Auburn schedule to this year's FSU schedule. Stever was saying last years Georgia, Alabama, and MIssouri wins by Auburn were much better than what FSU has faced thus far.

Agree 100% on TCU.

Sorry, I didn't realize you were talking to him since it wasn't quoted. My bad.

I'm talking regular season. Auburn had a good resume last year. Alabama was ranked #3. Missouri was ranked #8. Georgia was ranked #22. Texas A&M was ranked #21. 4 top 25 wins end of regular season.

FSU right now would have if they finish 12-1 wins over currently #10 ND, #21 Clemson, and #25 Louisville. That's not even remotely close. Going to be 2 top 25 wins there.

Odds for TCU will get a lot shorter if they win this weekend in FW.

After a Top 10 game with KSU, the rest of their schedule is absolute cake with only @Kansas @Texas and Iowa State remaining.

RE: Updated national title odds
I don't see any scenario in which a 1-loss SEC West team does not make the CFP. Right now, it is possible there could be 2 SEC West teams that fall in that category. I think Alabama is going to beat Auburn this year. So if Alabama beats Miss. State, I think Alabama and Miss. State both make the CFP. If Miss. State beats Alabama, then I think they will be the only SEC team in the playoff as long as they finish the regular season undefeated.

Clemson isn't going to finish at 21. They can easily win out the rest of the year. For that matter so can Louisville.

My point is those rankings from the SEC were inflated. Georgia ended up losing 5 games and Auburn beat them on a hail mary. Bama got punked in the Sugar Bowl by Oklahoma after being a double digit favorite. I'm having a hard time seeing the significant difference in SOS you describe. I get you're talking regular season, but it's still relevant how they finished.
