The G5 playoff is every week in every G5 conference.

On top of that, it widens the separation gap by having G5 teams play each other, something many seem to fear. Just a complete non-starter.

Also, playing 4 teams off doesn't ensure the best rep. Upsets happen.

Obviously, you do not like thinking outside the box.

It's all about the money. If a cable network thinks it will make more money with a playoff then the 5 championship games, then it becomes a reality. Besides, absolutely no one watches other then the teams fans of the teams playing.

Who cares if upsets happen. The top 4 teams should be near each other in level of talent and coaching anyway. It's not like we're talking about Alabama VS. Utah (who actually beat 'Bama some years ago), for example.

As for the competition end of it, we (G5) should feel fortunate for the Access bowl. Just look at the number of quality wins the G5 have obtained over P5 teams.

LOL. I was a business consultant for 25 years. All I did was think outside the box. But I tried hard not to come up with any stupid ideas.

Well you need to put your stupid cap on. This is college football. The dumber the idea the more likely it is to be implemented.

No different then the play in game for the NCAA tournament. As some have mention on this thread, and other, we have to look in the mirror and realize that there is a separation between G5 and P5, at least this year anyway. As the post above this reply says, some G5 programs have to step up to make everyone take notice.

As it is now, taking the best G5 4 teams and creating a separate playoffs sends a better candidate to the Access Bowl. It would eliminate the SOS argument, which is a valid argument to many.

If Marshall could defeat two G5 teams in a playoff then it would be clear that they are qualified. If they go undefeated and take the Access bowl slot under the current rules, it could and will be argued that they didn't deserve it but backed in anyway.

Please expalin the logistics in.... detail.

Consider dates, location, plans and dates for printing, selling and distributing ticket sales. Also, detail plans for teams and fans to make and schedule travel plans.

I retired at 53 years old and am very financially comfortable, golfing several days a week and vacationing where I want to go when I want to go, so what's your point.

There is more then one way to be successful. I should hope that your clients were given more then one option.

The college basketball tourney provides all the details ahead of time. They don't just fly by the seat of their pants. Seems like a good, working model to me.

Stupid ideas are stupid, and shouldn't be options. Get back to me when that 4-team G5 playoff for the access bowl spot happens.

So is conference championships of G5 conferences but they're doing them aren't they. I love your arguments though, no substance, must be a Democrat.

Well Said, Tnzazz! Well Said. By way of example, Temple eliminated ECU last week and Memphis eliminated Temple tonight! For now I'd say it's Colorado State or Boise State in the MWC! Marshall or La Tech in CUSA! And about 4 of you folks (that includes Memphis) in the AAC to choose from for the Access Bowl. G-5 needs to PROMOTE G-5 not tear it down!
