Much of the credit goes to Jarvion Franklin, the best freshman player the MAC has ever seen.

He is very impressive and has shown himself to be the shoe in for MAC FOY this year, but that is a that is a very powerful statement to make in saying that he is the best ever. This conference has pumped some serious, football greats through it's ranks over the years.

I doubt he would be running wild over some early 2000's MAC defenses. He's the best in a while for sure. I don't think many of these RB's would be as successful if they were playing vs. the Marshall's, WMU, NIU. BG, UT, or Miami's of a few years back.

He also didn't run over the UT defense this year as well. I would still take Hunt and Swanson over Franklin.

I'm sick of having our RB's hurt for half of the year. Flu would have been among the national leaders if he didn't get hurt last season. Hunt as well this season... 8ypc is freakish. Only a handful in NCAA are doing that. We had our freshman backup Swanson step in and almost do as well in Hunts absence. No doubt in my mind Hunt would have had another 10ypc game vs. BSU, CMU, WMU, or ISU.
As the cold month sets in, our run game is going to help us get to the MACC. BG has been especially bad vs. the run.

Major hyperbole. Very good back for sure. Probably best frosh back in the conference. If Swanson played the whole year it would be interesting. But there have been lots of four year All-MAC players over the years. I'd be hard put to say he's the best ever.

I'd be happy to hear the case for Franklin, but it would have to include some knowledge of whom his top 4 or 5 or so competitors are. I'm guessing the original poster could not provide those. I imagine there are very, very few folks with that kind of knowledge of the history of the MAC beyond some who know their own team's history.
I know Rosie Nix was the first freshman in MAC history to be named DPOY, so there's a start. Were you named the best player in the conference on your side of the ball your freshman year? Will Franklin be this year's OPOY?
