Getting destroyed this season by the west! A few close games but only one win vs the West and that was Umass over Emu. You could almost rank the West 5 ahead of bg or Akron considering those two dont have a win vs the MAC West 5 yet... Crazy.

Seems to be running motif for the MAC over the years. The West routinely destroys the East in regular season crossover records.

But then, occasionally, the MACC happens and the East underdog comes in and...

Whens the last time we had a MACC rematch from a previous game that season? Ut or wmu vs bg would be one.

Want to know what fools folks can be in predicting sports:

In Vegas, before the first conference game (Labor Day weekend) BG was 6:5 to win the MACC.

That means they were almost 'even money' or 50 - 50 chance to win the MACC.

Why? Because they won last year.

Why would anyone take a MAC (football) team to repeat?

Who said that was one day? Over a season, it starts to pile up.

Which is what makes Kent State's performances so woeful ... we get to play the other Mac East schools, and still can't win. Heck, in the first game OhioU went out of their way to try to give the game away with turnovers, and Kent was, "nah, not really interested taking the win, you keep it".

No shame in the best passing offense in the conference, taking the worst passing defense to the wire. I said there have been a few close games. That was one of em. Still there has only been 1 win vs. the entire West division yet.

IF Bowling Green looses to Akron & Toledo (or another combination with 2 losses) Akron looses to UMass and UMass wins out, 4 teams tie at 5-3 what happens?

Yes I know a lot what if's and long shot scenarios, but isn't that what message boards are for? Especially when a school has two weeks off in a row!

Probably a simple answer, I just don't know the tie breaking procedures of the MAC.

On a related note the AAC is talking about scenarios where 5 teams tie for the league and are all co-champions. At least with a championship game there isn't the risk of that happening!

Since the schedules are unbalanced, if they can't go with head-to-head match-ups, I believe they still go with the winning percentage of your crossover opponents. Whoever played the best teams from the other division will get to to to the MACC.

three teams at 5-3 may go to UMass because they would hold the tie breakers with Akron and BG directly. If it goes to SOS vs. crossover. BG has that with UT, WMU, and BSU.

BG already beat UMass, so that can't happen. If they all tie, it would go to the crossover games...and BG would beat UMass in the crossover tiebreaker since they played Eastern while BG played Western. Both teams will play Toledo and Ball State.

Akron's crossovers are EMU and Ball State. Currently the bottom two in the West.

Used to have a sign on my wall explaining "lose" and "loose". Seems like no one spells lose correctly.
