I dread to call this thread "Playoff possibility" because I know I'll get responses like "we don't deserve it" or "there's no way this team will beat Richmond" and such.
But getting beyond another loss in our house of horrors, the last three games are going to be very interesting. Earlier in the week the consensus among a lot of folks (experts and idiots) was if we beat Elon and Towson and at least split Richmond and JMU we were in a very good spot. Richmond beating Nova makes things very interesting. I'm going to assume we beat Elon and Towson. JMU has to travel to Stony Brook and Richmond. If they lose those two, they knock themselves out. That gives us a chance to beat Richmond and end the season on a 3 game win streak beating what will the be a very highly ranked Richmond team. Now if JMU wins out and we win out, we finish with the same record as Richmond and would hold the head. The really interesting one is if JMU loses to Stony Brook, beats Richmond, and we beat Richmond. All three of us finish 8-4, with JMU being 2-0 among us three, WM at 1-1, and Richmond at 0-2. I haven't looked at the bubble, but I think 5 CAA teams is unlikely. I do think 4 is probable, though some feel even 3 is generous.
However it shakes out, I thin if we win out, we get in the playoff field. I think we will be in the same situation we were last year going into the Richmond game. Beat the tics and we're most likely in. Lose and we miss out. The playoffs start next week. I'm excited.

If we win out, we're hanging our hat on a win over a beat up Richmond team. I have a hard time thinking we get with all these losses to the best teams on our schedule.

I doubt the scenario, but it is the right attitude. Go all out and see if you can dominate the last 3 games. New Hampshire did it last year after we shut them out and it carried them all the way to the semis. We will need lots of help even if we win the last 3. Some of our struggles yesterday were on the O-Line. But the D- line did fairly well frequently when we brought at least 4 to 5 guys, we got killed when we either did not bring pressure, or when we did not have Airek Green to shadow Lee.

IF we win out, we'll have a grand total of one quality win. 8-4 is fine but we'll be one of many with that record. Can't give up.

I thought the same thing, but Stony Brook may well turn out to be a quality win as well.

Delaware has Albany, UNH, and Villanova left. I doubt they win all three to get to 8-4, but if they win two of three suddenly our win against them looks just a little bit better.

Win three and we are in. My argument: (1) We were one of the last teams out last year at 7-5. (2) We are ranked 24th now; win three and we are in the teams. (3) We would be coming off a win over a very good Richmond team.

Must be nice to have TWO redshirt Senior QBs transfer from an FBS team competing for the starting job.
