If the SEC gets two teams into the playoff, they would have to have 12/14 teams eligible in order for CUSA not to receive the Shreveport bid. Vandy is one loss away from elimination (they must still play Florida, MSU and Tennessee).

South Carolina, Tennessee and Arkansas are two losses away from elimination.

South Carolina: @Florida, South Alabama, @Clemson
Tennessee: Kentucky, Missouri, @Vandy
Arkansas: LSU, Ole Miss, @Missouri

Also, Kentucky still needs a win, but must play Georgia, @Tennessee, and @Louisville.

And, there's always the chance that Marshall makes the Access Bowl.

If only there were a weekly column beginning next weekend that would look at the bowl situation... 03-idea

Shreveport gets to decide whether to take AAC or C-USA should a backup be needed.

I thought the same happened to La Tech last year, but my memory sucks anyway.

What are the odds that if the SEC doesn't fill the Birmingham Bowl that they would be our safety net and throw us a bone?

I originally thought it would be UT and Arkie not getting bowl eligible. Now I firmly believe that UT will become bowl eligible. Florida probably becomes bowl eligible as well. UAB really needs Arkie and S. Carolina to lose two more games.

That's ironic isn't it? Arkansas doesn't get to go bowling, but a UAB team that got absolutely trounced by them does.

Actually, Western Kentucky won EIGHT games last year, and did not go bowling.

Yeah, the same thing happened to MTSU in 2012.....8-4, and no bowl.

And what conference was MT in at the time? 05-stirthepot

FAU got left out last year because they and Tulane were the 6th and 7th bowl eligible team. And of course, the New Orleans bowl selected the hometown team.

This year, CUSA will have six bowl eligible teams, and will fill all the slots. Let's win on Saturday and start the speculatin!

My preference would be Memphis. Make those fools suffer! I think even a so-so USCe team is a bad matchup for UAB.

Memphis could end up winning the ACK. They've finally found a coach, as well.
