you knew it wasn't going to end up very well by the way he was falling to the ground with the defender

Not for the squeamish. Refs made the right call but the injury looks terrible.

Yep, I didn't see any taunting. Just a bad break.....no pun intended.

Taking the injury out of the equation the black bears loss part does not bother me one bit since it was the bears after all. The injury to Treadwell is very tough to watch. It is graphic. Even the announcer said they did not need to show it again after seeing the slo mo.

Yeah, but that was nothing compared to Tarkington. Or that guy who got bent backward at the waist a couple years ago.

Of course there was no taunting. The kid was trying to score and win the game. I have no clue how anyone would think that that is taunting.

RE: Yet another good weekend for football
Very tough loss for Mississippi against Auburn.

I have no great love for our friends down in Oxford but their final two drives ended in truly unique fumbles.

First, with about 3.5 minutes to go Wallace gains about 6 on a QB scramble up the gut and is pushing for additional yardage while upside down on a pileup of players and has the ball stripped inside the 10. Auburn recovers much to the chagrin of the Rebel faithful.

Then the tremendous Treadwell individual effort to score on the bubble screen - again up the gut - as he literally is 1/2 yard from the end zone, an Auburn defender holding his jersey yanking backwards, and a second defender knocking the ball loose. What made it unique was Treadwell's body was 75% in the end zone but the ball itself had NOT crossed the plane of the goal line. The replay booth guys had ample time to fully view it and made the hard (but CORRECT) ruling to the disbelieving Mississippi crowd.

I have a friend who is a Rebel season ticket holder that sent a text to all of us right after that replay announcement: That was a BS call!!. He was upset all week after the LSU ending and now THIS happens. His outrage had to be fully spiked over those two 4th quarter fumbles (just as TIGER Fans would be if the same had happened in a home game against Louisville or UT).

I decided the best thing was for me to not try to explain the accuracy of the review of the Treadwell fumble to him via text at that moment.

The Rebels have had a fine season and they will get a nice consolation NY Day Bowl bid for their considerable efforts. Old guard Bama and upstart Mississippi State will carry the SEC torch into the national playoff.

The replay of Steve Mathews was one of the worst I have every seen. I hate the Huggie Bears but hate that a great player like Treadwell got hurt.

At least the Wallace/Treadwell combo scored that "rub your face in it TD" against us with a minute to play.

Tough break for the kid. He indeed was not taunting on final play...but he and others do it...a lot. Protect the ball kids...stop preening.

Bit too much sympathy here for the Bears team.

They benefitted from a few turnovers by Alabama...cannot over whine about a few against Auburn. The important next game is Temple.

#1 will be back for spring practice.

And he didn't fall down he was yanked down from behind (horsecollar tackle) and then speared helmet to helmet both no calls neither was the play before when au had 12 on the field.

Never been around a worse fanbase (au) , except ecu fans.

Not a horsecollar pulled him down by the waste...And helmet to helmet contact is allowed as long as it is not the crown of your helmet and there is not a defenseless player.
