Marshall, LA TECH and Rice
Very little doubt on who the top 3 teams are. Should be a fun last 3 games to decide who the champs are.

Marshall beats Rice then Tech wins west. Marshall loses to Rice and the winner of rice la tech hosts.

Let's not count any chickens yet. UTEP is still right in the hunt, if they win out, we win out except for UTEP, and y'all drop one to UAB or ODU.

(edited for bonehead mixing up of UTEP/UTSA)

Would that be the same UTEP that LA Tech beat 55-3????

And after the way LA Tech is steamrolling everybody in CUSA, do you really think they'll drop one to UAB or ODU? (I'm still looking for signs of intelligent life on this CUSA board. So don't disappoint me.)07-coffee3

If rice beats us, and wins the west. We would still host as highest ranked team (undisputed this time). La tech could host if they remained undefeated in conference.

But we just need to beat USM this weekend and go from there.

Marshall can lose one and still have the east. The west race will be on if Tech loses one.

I wasn't aware beating a team only three years removed from nonexistence by 7 points at home counted as "steamrolling".

It also took you guys until the last 7 minutes of the game to look comfortable against a godawful Southern Miss team.

Here's a hint: keep your mouth shut and let your players do the talking for the rest of the season. That way you can point to them when UAB pulls the rug out from under you on Saturday.

I think you may be overlooking a teensy tinsey little detail in the home field tiebreaker.

Technically, Rice is the only team in conference that controls it's destiny for a chance to host the title game. (although Marshall winning out would almost certainly outrank and host a LaTech that won out).

RE: Marshall, LA TECH and Rice
My personal preference would be for Rice to beat Marshall in WV. Remember this is my homer response. Rice at Tech the last game of the season would be huge. If Marshall beats rice and tech wins its next 2, the game won't mean much as tech will have won the west.

I am not saying Tech couldn't lose to UAB or ODU, just don't see it happening with Diaz D. WKU high powered O couldn't do anything against our D. It will all depend on how our O performs.

Still a lot of football to be played and I am sure we are going to see some surprises.
Last year was such a beating which makes this year, other than NSU, such a great surprise.

I think having LaTech back in the top tier, where most of us thought they would be in short order, is going to be fun.

03-lmfao Thank you. I needed to see another ignorant post from another ignorant poster on the CUSA board. Because I needed another good laugh. 03-lmfao

Agree. For the record, I have much respect for UAB's team this year, (though maybe not all of your fans!03-lmfao). However, you guys DID let me down at Arkansas. I picked you to win there.
