I would rather see a total heartbreak at the end for them than the 80-10 beating I was originally hoping for.

Losing on a last second play is much worse, now their fans will spend the next week wonder what if...

They will spend the next week putting out fires and rebuilding Morgantown.

My guess is they would become LA Tech and turn the bowl bid down.

Why would they? It'd be a big draw, and they'll probably blow Marshall out.

Idk how you can say they would probably blow us out.. Probably beat us, I could see you saying that.. Probably blow us out.. I don't get that.. WVU is good but in my opinion no one in the Big 12 is as good as ESPN wants us to think they are.. I'm sorry but I just can't rank teams in the top 10 that routinely give up 50 and 60 points like those Big 12 teams do.. In my opinion that's why K-State is the best team in that league they are the only team that actually plays defense.

Was playing the sarcastic role of the snobby WVU fan. I agree with most of what you said except the high ranking comment. Marshall-WVU would be a good one!!

I read it that way. That's one of the funny things about them. They are always "we would kill you guys." "Ok let's play." "It's not worth it to us." I think one of our biggest regrets as Marshall fans is that the big series took place during the Snyder years and the early part of Doc's tenure, while they had the best teams they will ever field. Had we played more games shortly after the '97 game, we would have some checkmarks in our win column for sure.

Well maybe those that survive the riot, arson and general mayhem that is a football Saturday night in Poutieville.

The "I woke up harder than Marshall's schedule" sign was hilarious. I'll give them credit for that one.

RE: Thought WVU fans didn't care about Marshall
They were getting killed by some national media because some signs spelled Marshall with only one L. You can go to any Marshall forum or neespaper comment section and there are always several eerdiots running their mouths. When we got ranked in thr AP there were 4 or 5 threads on BlueGoldNews.com that were several pages and several days long.

I had friends I considered like brothers that we were friends for 15 years all disown me when Doc took the Marshall job. We got in a debate about 3 players he was stealing from them (CB Travis Bell, WR Darius Millines, WR Fred Pickett) and because somehow I was teo faced they would no longer answer my calls. This is 5 years after I graduate from Marshall mind you and it was a shock to them that I was a Marshall fan first. That I was pretendig to be a wvu fan that whole time. No I went to wvu games WITH my supposed FRIENDS to hang out with my friends.

I didn't hate wvu before this. It just showed me how ignorant and unreasonable they can be.

This is a fan base that believes they belong to be mentioned in the same breath as Alabama, USC, ND, tOSU, Michigan, FSU, Texas, or Oklahoma yet they don't come close to matching their on field accomplishments.

However as long as they can say 12-0 to a Marshall fan they can sleep easy. They din't come ckose to acting the same way with their "true" rivals VT and Pitt.
