7 home games next year, eh? I didn't know that. Cool. (As long as we don't have 4 of them in November.)
Stony Brook
Iowa State
Arkansas St
are all September home games. Stony Brook might be a Thursday night since it is Labor Day weekend, not sure. Then 4 MAC home games to be distributed as the conference sees fit.

No longer buying football season tickets largely due to these mid-week November games. Not worth maintaining the Jambulance year-round either for a handful of Saturday games. Really has ruined the fan experience in the MAC.
+1 We no longer purchase season tickets, either, after many years. I agree that the fan experience has been ruined.
You know, I was just thinking the other day--have we entered an era where strong local attendance has been permanently traded for wider national exposure through ESPN and streaming? I'm not sure which benefits UT athletics the most, but if this is the case then there is little point in discussing stadium expansion. The Glass Bowl will go the way of Savage--modernized with a face lift, but not expanded.
Is this the new reality?
A lot of lost revenue having BG on Wednesday at 8pm. Not great having no home games for a month - then the next one is against our rival on a Wednesday night. Essentially, the home game schedule was over in September.
Yeh, to me that sucks. Why not have UMass at home at 8pm and have BG for homecoming? Seems like that would have made a lot of scheduling sense. Have to wonder how much influence ESPN has in those decisions because I thought a couple of years ago it was decided this rivalry game would be played in October to enhance the number of fans attending. That lasted all of 2 years? No students will stay after the first half - and I doubt there will be more than 3k to 5k left in the stands for the start of the 2nd half. That looks real positive on national TV.

Id rather have 20k vs umass on homecoming and 23k for bg on wednesday night in november than. 26k for bg on homecoming and 12k for umass in mid november.

I would be amazed if we have 23K in the stands on the 19th. Depends on weather.
But to address the comment you made - I would have preferred the 26K against BG on homecoming and 12K against UMass if the BG game were still televised and the UMass game still was not. That is why I think ESPN has a say in scheduling. They love have a rivalry game on TV that they can try to hype for viewers that don't care much. Especially when they knew BG was defending champs and UT had beaten them 4 straight years.

Timewise, probably a good two and a half hours, if non-stop and depending on turnpike construction slow-downs. Take the turnpike to the Streetsboro/Kent exit 187, then south on Rt. 43 into Kent.

This season's schedule was great. With maybe 1 exception was good weather. I skipped that lightning game.
No more Saturday games so this season is essentially over.

You were ok with 1 home game during the day since September? A month between home games from September to October then from October to November. 2 home games since September with 1 being a night game on a weekday in November against our rival.
I think it sucks. So there was good weather in September - even if you had to dodge lightning bolts in one of the games. Football in the Midwest is meant to be played in crisp autumn weather on Saturdays - not in the summer (summer until September 22nd) or at night in November at 8pm on a weekday when it gets dark at 5:30pm.
For me, EMU is a home game after Thanksgiving since it is closer than going to Toledo. Yippee - at least it is a day game that will seem like a Saturday.

RE: Kent State Roll Call
Yeah, but the previous year we didn't get to see the team at home until 9/14 and then it was Eastern Washington. Then not again until 10/5. That sucked a lot worse IMO. This was a freakish year as far as rain. Seems like there was at least a threat for most games. Fortunately, the rain usually cleared out early, except for that BSU game where mother nature got even. But, you can't do a thing about the weather. Hard to say what we will have on the 19th. Too early to tell. Some years it is mild all the way into mid-November, though. Remember a few years back where it was mild for every doggone game? That was sweet. I would rather have better attended games in September than poorly attended games in November. Either way they get played though.

Toledo had over 20k for non rival NIU. If you dont think we will have a crowd like that for BGSUCKS youre high. 10k for after half... Wow. Youve bever been to a Toledo vs bgsucks game then.
Btw ive never seen anyone complain of 70+ degree football weather. Its a hell of a lot better than what we had vs. Buffalo, emu, navy, and niu last season.

RE: Kent State Roll Call
Right now Accuweather is predicting for the 19th: 54 degrees and periods of rain. LOL! Don't it figure.
Still too early to be very accurate, though.
The good news is that they are predicting a period of milder weather right around that time though. Hopefully the temperature prediction holds up. I hate having to walk up and down the steps to thaw my toes out.

Rockets vs. bottom-dwellers under Campbell:
2012--
Toledo 52- EMU(2-10) 47
Toledo 35- Akron(1-11) 23
2013--
Toledo 55- EMU(2-10) 16
Toledo 47- WMU(1-11) 20
2014--
No offense to Kent or EMU, but they will most likely fall in this group this season. We're 4-0 with a few pretty close games under Campbell. I'd do Toledo during MACtion but I don't like those stats very much...

My friends Matt & Steve decided yesterday to make the trip to Kent.
We should be able to pick them out from the "huge" crowd that is expected for tonight's game..........

RE: Kent State Roll Call
If Toledo wins tonight and takes the win @ Northern, the crowd vs BGSU will be very large. That game with a win would clinch the Mac-West for Toledo, and its against our biggest rival, the DEFENDING champions.
Even with a loss to NIU, the game is still huge so I think over 20k will be there.
