Will make is the key word. And the Pac 12 isn't. The ACC sold its tier 3 for next to nothing. The Big 12 isn't set up well for a conference network. Neither is the ACC. The Big 10 and SEC mostly have 1 flagship school/state, unlike the other P5 conferences.

Yup and even where they have two schools Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee they form a symbiotic relationship for their respective conferences.

Would it be worth for the rest of the Big 12 members to have a conference network. [W. VA, TCU, ISU, KSU, Baylor, TT, Ok. St] they can group themselves as a conference network and still get good distribution in their states and get the carriage fees. They may get quite a bit as a group than individually.
If they are more successful, then you can see KU joining the group and if more successful than OU, then they go in....Texas can either be part of it or can keep their LHN.
As a group they can really override Texas I'd think if they want to take Cincy, UConn or Memphis and have that network expand into those new areas.
I'd really like to see that at least to be tried, no harm in seeing if it works out.

I think Kansas would go along with the rest of them in forming a Big 12 network if that's a route that group was choosing to go. Oklahoma would be a tougher sell, but I think they're a more honest, less self-absorbed broker than Texas. If they could at least break even initially by going with the other 8 they would go with them. Texas would have to be shown they could make a lot more money and I mean a lot to even consider giving up their special status and control in LHN to go with a Big 12 Network. The only exception being of course ESPN deciding enough is enough and pulling the plug on the LHN.

You guys DON'T think that once you you a la cart that the prices won't go up? They'll look at your subscriptions as a revenue stream and get you like NHL Center Ice, MLB Extra Innings, NBA ____, and NFL Sunday Ticket. The the cable companies will look at lost revenue and jack up the cost if being a ISP.

The key would be proving to them that they would make more with a united front.

UF was making 10 mil a year off their Tier 3 deal with sunshine sports. So they had to be convinced that SECN would make even more than that for them to buy in and sell their rights.

Which is why the group I mentioned needs to start it off. They would get more than being individual, because the group can also get the Texas subsciber base along with the other states in addition to satellite TV for addition base income. The LHN is basically only Texas.
So then as KU, OU see the success (money and content), they can be put into that network if they choose to....or if the group of 7 want to have them.

Just more propaganda to prepare for what is coming. Each little individual piece is meaningless on it's own.
