RE: OT Ville 21-0 over FSU
I will never root for Louisville unless the outcome would directly impact UC in a positive way. Otherwise I'm always, 100% rooting against them. I'm with Rags, Louisville has always been UC's biggest rival. X is for one day out of the year then I can go back to never caring about them, but Louisville with their holier-than-thou fans and sleaze ball coaches have a special place of hatred for me.

Cardinal Jim--I think many of us Bearcat fans look forward to the day when Cincy and Louisville can resume the rivalry. With me it was always our best; the team Cincy fans loved to hate. And when Louisville advanced carrying the Big East banner I always wanted them to win for the greater good. UofL deserves a lot of credit for what they've built, albeit in a totally different metro sports market from Cincy. Here's hoping we reconnect someday soon in the ACC.

i felt same way. It was which team I hate more so I didn't watch.

And considering that I loathe Florida State, that is saying something.

When Louisville was ahead 21-0, I turned to my daughter and said, "But remember, Louisville sucks!"

Indy,
Thanks for the kind words. Most Louisville fans want UC in The ACC. (We already miss playing you folks.) I am not sure that happens because I believe UC will get The Big 12's first call. I will be glad when that happens because Ohio State doesn't want UC to have a level recruiting field. When UC joins The Big 12 the Bearcat program will explode.

Thanks for the kind words CJ. Always loved the UC / UofL series. Definately, our biggest rival. Atmosphere looked electric last night. You guys played them tough to the end.

Thanks for stopping by Jim. You and most other UL posters on here are all class. But, I am still angry about not playing you guys anymore. And I'm angry at UL, because I figure it's their decision, not to continue. Being in different conferences should not stop the series.

For football, I can understand, as there are only so many opportunities on the OOC schedule. But, there is no reason at all why b-ball shouldn't continue.

Nothing...other than beating us on the field or court a few times. It's what we haven't done to keep pace is the real issue.

My first UC - UofL football game (and first road trip) was down at the old Triple A ballpark, Cardinal Stadium, to watch our Bearcats get shut out 20-0. The UC seating section was behind the outfield wall so there was a huge distance between the visiting fans and the playing field. Dreary, cold day in mid-November 1980 with a very small crowd in attendance. It's amazing to have watched their transformation.

Due to league switching in the mid-90's, we did not play each other for the Keg of Nails over a 3 year span. Hopefully, this break won't last any longer.

word up. though big cities tend to have nfl teams. off the top of my head, these are the only competitive big towns that house both nfl and big time college ball

minneapolis- almost sell out. 50,000
seattle- pretty much sell out. 70,000
phoenix- dozens of thousands short of selling out. 72,000
miami (ish)- better things to do- 75,000
atlanta- close to sell out. 55,000
chicago (ish)- medium sell out. 47,000
boston- afterthought. 45,000
washington dc- nope. 52,000 (though that's for maryland. not sure if it counts but the subway runs there)
pittsburgh- the show up for big schools and that's it. 65,500

being in a professional sports town automatically puts college ball down a peg or dozen. not as much as the big schools, but conference affiliation obviously means a lot.

here's the rankings of the the nfl cities that host non power schools

cincinnati
philadelphia
dallas
new orleans
san diego
houston
tampa
charlotte
buffalo

this is actually how i typed it, but it could be right

Honestly BJ,
Pitino gave a Bullsh*t answer when asked why he continued playing Memphis and not Cincinnati. "Memphis asked first" Really what kind of lame excuse is that? Why did we sign an OOC with Houston and not Cincinnati? Some of the decisions being made by UofL don't make anymore sense to Louisville fans than they do Cincinnati fans or anyone else for that matter.

This all makes good sense. It's easy to see why you have a reputation of 112.

The impressive rep in this house is CardinalJim. 422 points against 6,125 posts. Seems like UofL fans let the love flow all over the place.

Thank you Fly. Didn't seem to move the meter one lick, but appreciate the effort.

Hey BJ - If I haven't had a rep point in over a year (until today) why does it now say I had one positive last month, one positive last week and one negative in the last 6 months? Don't make a whole helluva lot of sense.

Fellas, I wouldn't worry about it. I'm living proof that the correlation between rep points and quality posts is pretty weak.
