RE: No Point Spread for FAU game
It's because of the QB situation. A vegas point spread represents the median spread amongst bettors. Vegas sports books try to guess the spread that they feel will generate an equal amount of bets on each team. Once that initial spread is out, they adujst it based on the actual bets that do get placed so that the spread remains the median amongst all bettors on that game.

The problem for vegas is that we are a much worse team offensively without our starting QB, and no one in vegas knows if he is going to play. The initial point spread would be one value if they knew he would play, and a much different value (in FAU's favor) if they knew he wasn't going to. Because of the uncertainty, the only people likely to bet on the game are people with inside knowledge about if Clements was going to play. The is a risk to the balance sheet of the sports books, so they just dont put out a line for the game.

CBS Sports shows FAU -1.5. Over/Under at 67. I'm not sure where they are getting that info. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball...014/week10

That's about where I'd expect the line with Clements.

FAU -4.5 in most books now. Guess they figure it's Briscoe.
