Yes..for you youngin's, it was at midnight. :)

Yes and yes! Was at both of those....midnight crushing of RU was one of my favorite JMU memories. I'll also never forget the Hood shot to beat American. Sorry, I guess the thread is getting a little OT here...uh....go Dukes, beat UVa!!!

Not at all- that's what this game is all about- it conjures up all the good memories of big games from years ago. It reinvigorates the fan base- that is a big part of what the Lefty years were about- big programs coming into Harrisonburg and playing in the Convo. JMU Men's Hoops being relevant. When JMU signed the home and home with Virginia last year you knew it was a great "get" now let's hope they bring their A game and the atmosphere is electric- maybe it helps get some of the old school JMU fans back into the team. Ok, ok, I was in the Convo the last time UVA came to visit, 1982. Yes, I am old. Some like to tease that my SSN is one digit, #1, as in the first SSN ever issued.

Actually, it was a great atmosphere as the game began, but from the onset, we just couldn't get anything going. It wasn't that we got blown out, but there was never a real issue of who would take the win.

Sweet Lou, was always at his best win we were within reach, as in 6 points of fewer, but that game quickly jumped up to a 10 point lead and we could never narrow the gap. Still a great time and we had the Convo packed.

JMU announces that single game tickets are sold out. Season tickets are still available.
An almost sellout.

With 36 hours till, start selling those season ticket seats as single game. Why turn away revenue? Save about 50 for the potential last minute season ticket sales.
Some may say if it isn't a JMU fan, don't sell it, but I see it as money in JMU's pockets.

I've got to agree with you. Who really cares as long as the Convo is rock'n. JMU will out number UVA 20 - 1 or more, a few hundred will not make a difference. You've got to look at a game like this as an experience, where winning is great, but to look back 20 years from now and say you were there, should be more of the goal.

Sunderland tweeted that the Convo is down to a stated capacity of 6426. That's down from 7126
(which is down from the opening capacity of 7612). Said it's due to reconfigurations and TV production space. I know we've lost the baseline lower bleachers and turned a whole upper baseline bleacher section into disabled seating. Anywhere else we've lost seating over the years?

Eh, only time will tell, but there's no way we'll outnumber them. It'll be 60% Uva fans best case scenario.

60% UVa fans? lol.... 2500 JMU students have tickets. Tack on the normal JMU crowd, and you're at 5000.

UVa will have 1500-2000. 60% is silly.

I wouldn't underestimate the dual Uva-JMU fan that is a Uva fan first. I'm always disturbed at home many of them are out there.
Alright, 60% was ridiculous, I admit. 1/3 is likely though, that 2k number will be what we see.

RE: UVA
It would be nice to see 2,500 JMU students show.

If it is within 10 at half, it will make for a loud and long night for UVA. As to season tickets, I bought them this year early just for this game. A smart approach would be to give 2015/16 season ticket holders first crack at JMUs allotment for the return game at UVA.

This is also good for UVA - they play an instate rival who is not VCU or GMU. It is a nearby game for them that likely plays into a tune-upf or them.

Have I missed something here...this is the return game and the final game of the contract.

It was originally a home and home but it was changed to a 2 for 1.
