I asked a question about the stadium renovations making NIU better prepared to move to a P5 conference. That question was not posted.

I asked a question about why he wont allow Diesel to run the endzone anymore. Also not posted.
Diesel is retired. He shouldn't be allowed to run in the endzone. You need to let this go, man.

I'm just hoping this is some serious satire right now

I did ask him but wasn't really expecting him to answer it. Good questions though, it made for a good read and provided some insight.

I asked 2 questions that I wouldn't call hard ball at all and he did not answer either. I just think he got a ton of questions because everyone is excited or pissed off.

Not sure I completely understand the capital campaign. Frazier said that it's important for everyone to contribute. I wonder if they will be seeking general donations where you get nothing in return for it (except recognition), or donations for a tangible benefit (such as paying in advance for premium seating). I would be willing to contribute for the latter but certainly not both. The well for most people is not filled with oil.

Dogfan, I recently just found out that many in Athletic Dept feel that you just donate to donate. I told them that I donate to get something(500 or whatever for parking). I said I probably wouldn't donate if I wasn't getting something. They didn't feel that I was like the majority of donors but I believe I am.

For the Yordon and Chessick IPF, I donated to donate. It was for facilities that helped the players. For stadium renovation, I do not see myself donating and then get hit with a higher cost for the premium seating (assuming I go for that). That would be a double donation. I would rather put the donation towards the cost of the premium seating, which will not be cheap and would represent a bigger commitment than I am already making.

I did check the donate just to donate box but I was talking about $250 or $500 total over a few years because I think the premium seats are a must for the program even though I know that I cant afford to use it for 20+ years.

When I donate for parking, I feel that I am donating to the student athlete. I don't see much if any cost to NIU for letting me park on a grass field.

Correct. All of the donations (less costs) to the HAF go towards the program. Like you, my donations to the HAF are geared towards achieving a specific benefit. My capital donations (Yordon and Chessick Centers) were given without an expectation of a personal benefit (hence, those donations are 100% deductible). Any donations I would make to the renovations would be with the expectation of a benefit.
