Thirty-one in attendance, nice group. Seems to be getting larger as the season moves along.
Kris Strange was the guest football player this week. Wide receiver, 5' 11', weighs 186, and is a red shirt junior. When asked how he prepares for a game, he said that he watches film on the defensive backs he will be playing against to see how he can maneuver past them. Then tries those moves in practice. When asked about the Michigan MAC Trophy that will be up for grabs this Saturday, he said that the team is ready to win the trophy back, and know that this is an important rivalry between Eastern and Central.
When Coach Creighton was asked that same question he said he had never been part of a three way rivalry, so this is new to him. He went on to say that he is letting the seniors lead the discussions at team meetings, to get the team fired up about the rivalry and the game. He expects this to be a tough game, but one that Eastern can win. Eastern has to do a better job in executing plays, by not taking penalties, and the receivers have to do a better job in catching the ball. All in all, he is pleased with the effort that the team is displaying, and their desire to win.
