This is going to sound elitist and arrogant, but I don't really care. Playing UAB in a bowl would be an extreme disappointment to me.

Edit: Not the bowl in itself, just the opponent

At least it's a beatable foe, at a close, easy to get to bowl game...

I would prefer a P5 opponent, but considering how long it's been, as long as it is a bowl I'm good.

If we have to play a CUSA team, I'd prefer a UAB/SoMiss type due to the history...

The other guy (Mark McMurphy) has us playing North Carolina in the St. Petersburg Bowl. This would be a great step up for our program, playing one of the P5 conferences.

Shouldn't we offer congratulations to UAB for becoming a member of the SEC. They must have since the B Bowl is an AAC vs SEC contract and there will be enough be enough SEC to fill the slot.

But other than that my response would be yuck!!!

If UCF doesn't get an Access Bowl...they're going to St Pete.

UCF vs any ACC team would pack out the Trop.

If the SEC puts 1 in the Playoff, 2 in access bowls...and 9 maybe 10 teams get eligible...that would leave Birmingham, maybe Indy Bowl unfilled

If the SEC doesn't have a team, CUSA is the back-up

The SEC has 10 bowl ties plus the playoff, so they'll need 11 or 12 eligible teams to fill all of their bowls. Certainly possible.

SI has us in St. Pete playing UVA. Thankfully we don't have any basketball players on our football team, because the sight of UVA would likely cause PTSD flashbacks.

Their football team plays a lot like their basketball team. Would not be a fun game to watch.

Jerry Hairy Palm has us playing Miami in the Military Bowl in Annapolis on Dec. 27.
