RE: Playoff Committee Initial Rankings
People don't have an issue with potentially three SEC teams in the four team playoff??? This is the culmination of 10 years of SEC/ESPN bull****. And, way too many people have bought in to it. A fair amount of those recent SEC 'national championships' were gerrymandered. This looks like it is going to be more of the same.

RE: Playoff Committee Initial Rankings
The playoff will be a huge success financially and ratings-wise. Just wait and see the media hype leading up to the semifinals and then the championship game. The TV ratings will be off the charts.

Even with that, the complaints of the schools left out and the lure of even more money will bring about expansion to 8 teams very soon. More than likely, an 8-team playoff will have the champions from the P5 conferences and 3 at-large teams.

The SEC has become to college football what the English Premier League is to soccer. Its the league that gathers the most attention and television audiences, with a "big" game having championship ramifications every week.

That is the bitter truth, like it or not.

There won't be three SEC teams in the playoff. They're gonna start knocking each other off. Won't happen.

You're right about the SEC/ESPN bull**** though. Because ESPN owns the SEC Network, there is a huge conflict of interest. Hate to agree with Bo Pelini, but that's the fact!

What if none of the G5 conference champs are ranked? These rankings extend beyond 25 teams, right? Or is the G5 just out of the access game completely?

The committee will pick someone. They don't have to be ranked.

A G5 team will be in an Access Bowl. Doesn't matter if they are ranked.

Quick, someone pay off Barry's house!

This committee business wont last long, too much is at stake to have it decided by a few people in a dark smoky room. It just reaks.

It would be cool if the committee did a G5 Top 10.

Then I think they'd do a separate vote. From the sounds of it, their process is lengthy in the voting processes and such, and the people hired are expected to analyze and not just be a random press person or anything. And in reference to other inquiries about Why 25 -- their (sole) goal isn't to get the Top 4 in, that's why.

Wait until you've been down here a few more years listening to the Gator and Georgia fans et al And yes there won't actually be three SEC teams but they'll do their damnedest to get two.
