RE: What they are saying.
That first paragraph is one of the worst ever written. I know it's quoting, but clean it up a little.

RE: What they are saying.
While visiting the FAU site, click on the "facilities" header and look at what they have in place on their campus which is not that different in age from UAB.

About the time UAB was "born", Florida had two major college teams - UFL and Miami. FSU had just grown in the 1960s from being a girl's school and was not yet considered seriously by anyone. Today that state has 5 "BCS level ready" schools (matching LA, AL and MS COMBINED). and perhaps two more on the way. We have already played one and face the other Saturday.

Of course, the population of Florida is 19.6 million, while the population of Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi is 12.4 million combined.

"All indications were that Cody Clements could have played their quarterback last week. He was jumping around during warm-ups, throwing the ball and all those kind of things. All indications are that he will be back to play."

Is it as simple as that? Might it also be the ways Florida supports and afministers its public schools so that even the two "new guys" (USF and UCF) EACH have about 50,000 enrollments?

Alabama seems to have more in common with the other two in operating its state universities as a sort of collection of exclusive private (Greek lettered) clubs, at least for those who have political power within the schools. They then graduate and move on to learn how to run the state.

That's what a 2-10 record earns you. We start busting the homecoming good times for these schools and we won't be their "lamb to the slaughter" for future games.

How many times has UAB been the Homecoming game for LSU since 2000?

Great point! Learned their lesson, I guess. UAB is still the only division one team in Alabama with a perfect record against Nick Saban. May that distinction NEVER change!
