Has ETSU ever played a game at Neyland?

Looking through the ETSU record books, there's nothing in it that shows ETSU and Tennessee have ever met on the football field.
I would suspect anything like this wouldn't happen until ETSU has been playing 4-5 years.

Personally, I don't think we have any business playing UT in football. But I also do not think that any FCS team has any business playing an SEC team in football. If they are going to play someone at our level, might as well be us.

That's just what Vol nation needs to see - UT destroying the fledgling ETSU football team.
Personally, I don't think we should play UT in football, basketball, or basket weaving unless we know we can bring a competitive game. That won't happen anytime soon with football, but maybe down the road....

Na, no football with them. Reason, many college football fans do not appreciate the different levels of the college football game, especially perspective students. Not a good selling point for a casual sports minded HS college bound senior to see a 56 - 7 UT over ETSU football score. Besides, the money games for FCS vs Power Five Conference teams is virtually over anyway.
Basketball, a much better option. And, keep playing them in baseball.

Yes I agree. So many fans out there have no idea about the different levels and resources that the big schools have. It would be like a working class family going up against Warren Buffet and people thinking they are on an equal footing.

I'd love to see it. Was there to watch us play at Pitt and at NCSU. Great atmospheres.

I think we'll have to wait and see how the power five conferences shake out. If three SEC teams end up in the college football playoff, there will be a split, and an expansion of those playoffs. It's time college fans change their mentality and see that level for what it is. Look at the pro sports leagues in this country. The NFL has 32 teams, a 16 team playoff. The NHL has 32 teams, a 16 team playoff. The NBA has a 16 team playoff with from 30 teams.
Put your mindset into a major college football playoff from the power five conferences, where each conference plays a championship. You have the five champions, then 11 at large bids to dole out. I think it'll play out that if ETSU wants to play teams from the power conferences, they'll have to find a way to shoehorn into a spot in one of the five nonmajor FBS conferences.

Agree. The power five folks will soon not schedule FCS schools at all. No more money games with them. Will they keep scheduling schools from the non-power five FBS conferences? Will have to wait and see. My guess, down the road, the power five folks are going to separate from the rest and schedule only among themselves. Thus, the rest of FBS/FCS football will undergo a restructuring -- with finances being the key criteria.
