KenPom Preseason Rankings
http://kenpom.com/index.php

Here's a nice write up on how it works. http://americanathleticbasketballblog.com/

On his website, Pomeroy writes about two key categories that impact his rankings… the base level of the program and personnel. When examining the base of the program Pomeroy looks at the last five seasons of data for each unit in order to help predict the current season standings. Personnel looks at players returning from last year and incoming recruits based on their RSCI rankings. A key factor to point out here is that Pomeroy’s calculations do not look at transfers, junior college players, and non top-100 recruits. This could lead to somewhat of an underrated ranking for your team.

AAC Ranks:
16 UCONN
27 Memphis
36 SMU
45 Tulsa
46 Cincinnati
110 Temple
158 South Florida
183 ECU
188 UCF
202 Houston
208 Tulane

As it says JUCO's and Freshmen outside the Top 100 are not taken into account. Neither Gary Clark nor Quadri Moore are ranked in the top 100 of the ranking site he uses. https://sites.google.com/site/rscihoops/home

Obviously, UC will be getting production from Clark, Strickland, Cobb, and Ellis. So when you take them into account, 46 may be too low. Note: 46 at the end of last year was St. Joseph's who made the tournament as a ten seed.

Houston with Sampson needs to be better than 202, as does Temple need to be better than 110. Would be great if Tulsa could stay in the top 50 throughout the year.

Other teams of note:
17 VCU
29 San Diego St.
34 Nebraska
47 Creighton
60 NC State
66 Xavier
88 Mississippi
115 Middle Tennessee

RE: KenPom Preseason Rankings
Assuming that holds true, we won't be sweating out selection day due to OOC scheduling.(Provided we're a winning team next year)

RE: KenPom Preseason Rankings
the college of the city of columbus at #14? Really?
Sure their record will look strong after the 10-12 at home with maxi-rpi's.
Don't their fans get sick of mom/pop teams at home every year?
KenPom get current.....
